Africa · Odyssey of the Sky

Martial Eagle and Bateleur

The Odyssey of the Sky of the South African Mint began in 2025 with the Bateleur, followed by the Martial Eagle in 2026. Each coin shows its face value as an R before the number, the symbol of the rand, from R5 on the ounce of silver to R200 on five ounces of gold.

The gold coins are of fine gold 999.9/1,000, the silver coins of one and two ounces of silver 999/1,000.

Beside it in the series stands the Martial Eagle, a master of soaring flight.

Australia · Wedge-tailed Eagle

The eagle with the wedge-shaped tail

Its tail is long and wedge-shaped, its legs are feathered down to the toes.

Europe · Spanish Imperial Eagle and Golden Eagle

The return of the Spanish Imperial Eagle

In the 1960s only 30 pairs of the Spanish Imperial Eagle were left; in 2020 there were 530 to 540.

North America · Bald Eagle

The eagle with the white head

In August 2007 the Bald Eagle was removed from the list of endangered species in the USA.

A Masterpiece of Minting Art in Proof Quality

The Proof minting quality lends this rarity an extraordinary brilliance. Every single feather of the Bateleur Eagle has been crafted with the utmost precision. The dramatic contrast between the polished and frosted areas makes the design virtually leap from the coin's surface – a visual experience that only Proof quality can deliver.

"The Bateleur Eagle, king of the African skies, symbolises freedom, strength and the infinite expanse of the heavens – values that silver coins have embodied for centuries."

Strictly Limited: Only 5,000 Pieces Worldwide

What makes this coin a true sensation? The extremely low mintage of only 5,000 pieces worldwide! Given the enormous demand for high-quality collector's coins from South Africa, this strict limitation is a guarantee of rapid availability shortages. Experienced collectors know: the lower the mintage, the greater the appreciation potential.

Why This Coin Enriches Your Portfolio

Silver has proven itself as a reliable store of value over millennia. While paper currencies come and go, physical silver retains its intrinsic value. This collector's coin combines several advantages at once:

  1. Tax-free gains after just one year holding period
  2. Perfect inflation hedge through real tangible asset value
  3. High industrial demand ensures long-term value stability
  4. Ideal crisis protection in uncertain times
  5. Additional collector potential through limited mintage

Technical Perfection Meets Artistic Brilliance

With an impressive diameter of 50 mm, this coin offers a generous surface for the highly detailed design. The 62.21 grams of pure 999 fine silver guarantee not only material value, but also a pleasing weight in the hand – a tactile experience that digital investments can never provide.

The Bateleur Eagle, also known as the "acrobat" of the skies, is one of the most spectacular birds of prey in Africa. Its characteristic black-and-white plumage and impressive wingspan make it the perfect protagonist for this new series. The coin designers have masterfully captured the powerful elegance of this bird.

Your Chance to Own a True Rarity

Consider this: with a mintage of only 5,000 pieces and millions of coin collectors worldwide, this coin is a genuine rarity. South African coins enjoy an excellent international reputation – from the legendary Krugerrand series to modern collector's pieces such as this one.

The combination of the highest minting quality, very low mintage and a fascinating design makes this coin a must-have for every serious collector. At the same time, you benefit from all the advantages of a physical silver investment: inflation hedge, crisis security and long-term value stability.

"In times of digital uncertainty, physical silver offers the assurance of a real, tangible value – a security that can be passed down from generation to generation."

Secure your piece of this extraordinary world premiere now, before the limited mintage is sold out. With the "Odyssey of the Sky" series, a new chapter begins in the history of South African collector's coins – be part of it from the very beginning!
