1 ounce Silver, 2024 issue with the privy mark of the ANA World’s Fair of Money, 2025 design. The image shows a single elephant with long tusks, behind it a bare tree and an acacia.

The elephant

The eldest knows the way.

Elephants live in families. A herd usually consists of related females and their young, led by the matriarch, as a rule the oldest and most experienced. She knows where to find food and water. When danger looms, the herd forms a ring, the young in the middle.

In a study published in 2001, researchers used playback experiments to show that the oldest female’s better ability to discriminate can influence the social knowledge of the whole group. Elephants can communicate through deep calls that lie partly below the range of human hearing and carry a long way.

The trunk is nose and upper lip at once. It lifts a log, and just as well a single piece of straw.

Why Silver Coins Are a Smart Choice

Silver coins, such as this exclusive edition of the Somalia Elephant, offer numerous advantages. They are tax-free provided the holding period is at least one year, and they enjoy high demand in industry, particularly in electronics, solar, and medical technology. Silver has limited availability and a limited supply, leading to long-term value stability. In addition, silver coins have a long tradition as a store of value and are highly valued by collectors due to their aesthetic qualities and historical significance.
