Noah’s Ark 2026

A morning at Ararat, struck in gold.

Design side: the ark on the waves, in the foreground a dove with an olive branch, behind it a mountain with two peaks and the rising sun, around it NOAH’S ARK and an Armenian inscription
Value side: the national coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia with eagle and lion, below it the face value and the year, around it REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA and an Armenian inscription

Design side: the ark on the waves, in the foreground a dove with an olive branch, behind it a mountain with two peaks and the rising sun, around it NOAH’S ARK and an Armenian inscription

The mountain

Visible from Yerevan

Anyone who comes to Yerevan can see Ararat rising in the distance. Many houses in the city are built of pink tuff, compacted volcanic ash. At sunrise and sunset, their colour glows brightest.

The mountain is over 5,100 metres high and today lies in Turkey. Beside its main summit stands Little Ararat. On the coin, too, the mountain has two peaks.

The design side

The dove flies towards the ark

Dove, ark and sun, details from the product image

In the centre, the ark drifts on the waves, a ship of planks with small windows and a superstructure like a house. From the left comes the dove with outstretched wings, an olive branch in its beak.

Behind it, the sun rises between the two peaks, and its crown of rays fills the whole upper part. Along the top runs the Armenian inscription, and at the bottom right stands NOAH’S ARK.

The design is by Eduard Kurghinyan. It refers to the account of the ark coming to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

The value side

The mountain appears twice on every coin

At the centre of the coat of arms: the mountain and the ark above the waves

The value side bears the national coat of arms of the Republic of Armenia. An eagle and a lion support the shield, and at its centre, as the Constitution lays down, stand Mount Ararat and Noah’s Ark.

So every Noah’s Ark coin bears Ararat twice: small in the coat of arms and large as a landscape behind the ark.

The coat of arms goes back to a design by the architect Alexander Tamanian and the painter Hakob Kojoyan.

The first bullion coin of the Central Bank of Armenia

It is issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia, which calls the ark the most expressive symbol of Armenian history. In Armenia, the coin is legal tender at its face value.

It is minted in Germany, by Geiger Edelmetalle AG. To the left of the coat of arms is the mint mark, LEV, to the right the weight and fineness, and below the coat of arms the face value in drams and the year.

  • 10000 DRAM and the year 2026

25,000 at most, per size and year

The Central Bank limits Noah’s Ark in gold to this number.

Each gold coin lies, together with a serially numbered certificate of authenticity, in a security capsule that cannot be opened without destroying it.

The drawing on the certificate changes every year: in 2026 it shows a wolf. The design of the coin stays the same.

The certificate bears the signatures of the governor of the Central Bank and the director of the mint.

Olive branches are regarded as a sign of peace, in the emblem of the United Nations too.

A Masterpiece of Minting Art with Profound Symbolism

The extraordinary design shows a majestically flying dove of peace in the foreground, carrying an olive branch in its beak. This powerful depiction tells the decisive moment of the biblical story: when the dove returned to Noah with the olive branch, it announced the end of the Great Flood. In the background, Mount Ararat rises majestically, where the ark is said to have come to rest according to tradition. The rising sun behind the mountain silhouette symbolizes the new beginning of humanity.

"Gold is the oldest currency in the world and has outlived every paper currency. It is God's money and has provided stable value preservation for over 6,000 years."

Highest Quality from a German Mint

Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitung GmbH, one of the leading manufacturers in Germany, mints this strictly limited coin using state-of-the-art technology. Only LBMA-certified raw materials are used in the process. The result: a gold coin of exceptional brilliance with a fineness of 999.9/1000 – virtually pure gold!

Why Noah's Ark 2026 Is a Smart Investment

This rarity combines several factors that make it an exceptional investment:

  1. Extremely low mintage: With only 25,000 pieces worldwide, availability is severely limited
  2. Tax-free profits: After a holding period of at least one year, sales profits are completely tax-free
  3. VAT exemption: Gold is exempt from VAT
  4. International recognition: Legal tender of Armenia with a face value of 10,000 Dram
  5. Perfect denomination: At 1/4 ounce, ideal for flexible investment strategies

Technical Perfection in Detail

The coin impresses with its precise specifications: with a diameter of 25.20 mm and a fine weight of exactly 7.78 grams, it sits perfectly in the hand. The bank-standard condition guarantees the highest quality straight from the mint. Each coin is delivered in a protective blister card that optimally shields the precious piece from environmental influences.

The appreciation potential of this collector's coin is considerable. Comparable issues from previous years of issue impressively demonstrate how limited gold coins can develop. The combination of limited availability, religious-historical significance, and the worldwide collector base for the Noah's Ark series creates ideal conditions.

Gold as a Crisis-Proof Asset

In times of economic uncertainty, investors increasingly seek stable values. Gold has proven itself as the ultimate form of wealth protection over millennia. While paper currencies come and go, the precious metal retains its intrinsic value. Incidentally, the largest gold holders worldwide are the central banks themselves – a clear signal that even the guardians of currency do not fully trust their own paper money.

  • Gold protects against loss of purchasing power and inflation
  • It is recognized worldwide as a medium of exchange
  • Limited availability ensures long-term value stability
  • High liquidity enables sale at any time
  • A perfect addition to retirement planning

A Collector's Item with Soul

Noah's Ark 2026 is more than just a bullion coin – it is a piece of history in your hands. The elaborate design with high-quality paper finishing and sequential numbering makes each piece a one-of-a-kind item. Collectors particularly appreciate the thoughtful design, which combines biblical tradition with modern minting artistry.

This very rare collector's coin is excellently suited as a gift for special occasions or as the starting point of your own collection. The emotional connection to the Noah's Ark motif – a symbol of hope, new beginnings, and divine protection – gives this gold coin a special aura that goes far beyond its pure material value.

"Gold has shone for millennia and will never lose its luster. It is the big brother of little silver and offers protection against political and economic crises."
