Molten gold flows from the crucible into an ingot mould

Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim

Gold from the Golden City.

It began with the dust of the workshops.

Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.

The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.

1845

This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.

Inside the works

From scrap to bar.

  1. Old silver, coins and pieces of jewellery slide from a shovel into a glowing crucible

    The scrap

Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

  2. A melter pours molten metal from the crucible, sparks flying

    The pour

Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

  3. Gold and silver bars by Heimerle + Meule on slate

    The bar

At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.

A house that carries on.

  1. 1945

    In ruins

On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.

  2. 1977

    The Brötzinger Tal

The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.

  3. 2010

    Bars for investors

Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.

  4. 2014

    Good Delivery

On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

On the bar

What the marks say.

999.9
The fineness in parts per thousand: out of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure gold.
1845
The caster. Since 1933 he has been the emblem of the house. In the round stamp, he stands above the year 1845.
melter assayer
The one who melts the metal and the one who tests it. Next to these words stands the mark of the house.
HEIMERLE + MEULE
The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.

From dust came a name.

Made to last.

The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.

1/200 Ounce Gold Bar Heimerle und Meule – Genuine Fine Gold in the Smallest Form

  • Investment goal: A gold bar provides highly effective protection for your wealth against currency devaluation.
  • Preservation of value: The bar is a proven store of value that secures the real purchasing power of your assets and preserves it over the years.
  • Protection: Especially in times of inflation, recession, and high government debt, you protect your wealth with physical gold.

The gold bar weighing 1/200 ounce packs the substance of a genuine gold investment into the smallest possible space. Its fine weight is around 0.16 g at a fineness of 999.9 – the purest gold, clearly marked on the stamped surface as "FINE GOLD 999.9". The value of this bar is based primarily on the fine gold it contains and moves in line with the gold price. This means you are not holding a mere souvenir, but full-fledged investment gold in its most convenient unit.

Crisis Protection That Fits in Any Wallet

Small precious metal units form the foundation of a well-thought-out crisis protection strategy. This is precisely where this bar shows its strength: it belongs to the small denominations in gold and silver that are popular products for various emergency situations, whether at home or abroad. Such tiny units can easily be carried in a wallet while traveling without drawing attention, and they serve as a globally recognized medium of exchange whenever paper currencies lose trust. Gold has been genuine money for over 6,000 years – a scarce asset that has never had a value of zero. Anyone wishing to structure their wealth broadly and securely likes to combine gold with matching units of silver.

Inflation Hedge and Preservation of Value in Bundled Form

Gold has proven itself over centuries as protection against the loss of purchasing power. When inflation rises, the precious metal retains its intrinsic value or even gains – while fiat money can be printed at will, the supply of gold remains strictly limited. This bar is therefore a tangible building block for your inflation hedge and long-term preservation of value. Gold offers high liquidity, is tradable worldwide, and can be converted into cash at any time – qualities that make it a reliable anchor in uncertain times.

Small amounts of gold add up over the years to considerable wealth – step by step, without requiring large capital outlay.

Heimerle und Meule – Tradition from Pforzheim Since 1845

Behind this bar stands Heimerle und Meule, Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery, founded in 1845 in the "City of Gold" Pforzheim and part of the Lübeck-based Possehl Group. The manufacturer is certified by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) and represents "Made in Germany" at the highest level. The bar bears the characteristic melter figure logo with the year 1845 – a stylized bar caster with a ladle – flanked by the "melter assayer" hallmark and the inscription "HEIMERLE+MEULE". The reverse side remains plain, emphasizing the pure shine of the fine gold.

Delivery and Packaging

You will receive this minted gold bar as brand-new, Brilliant Uncirculated stock. The fine gold bar is set into a high-quality RFID-blocker card by Kettner Edelmetalle in credit-card format – elegantly designed in black and gold, featuring the motto "Real money, for 6,000 years." The card protects contactless payment cards from unauthorized reading and at the same time turns the bar into a flat, portable asset.

A Genuine Gold Investment – Also Perfect as a Gift

Whether as an entry point into physical gold investment or as a thoughtful present: with this bar, you give genuine investment gold for occasions such as birthdays, christenings, weddings, or Christmas. The minting adds a personal touch – but the true substance and reason for purchase is the fine gold it contains, whose value is based on the gold price. In this way, you lay the foundation for wealth building in small steps that can be passed down through generations.
