Rentenmark and Reichsmark

From the Rentenmark to the Reichsmark

In the autumn of 1923 the Rentenbank was founded. Its Rentenbank notes were issued in a new money:

“The unit of value of these Rentenbank notes is the Rentenmark, which is divided into 100 Rentenpfennig.”

Decree on the founding of the Deutsche Rentenbank, 15 October 1923

That is where the name on our strikes in the oak wreath comes from.

  1. 15 October 1923

Decree on the founding of the Rentenbank.

  2. 8 November 1923

    A decree allows coins of 1, 2, 5, 10 and 50 Rentenpfennig.

  3. 30 August 1924

The coinage act introduces the Reichsmark.

  4. October 1924

The Reichsbank issues the Reichsmark alongside the Rentenmark, one to one.

  5. June 1948

The Deutsche Mark replaces the Reichsmark.

  • Mint quality: Highest mint quality "Proof (PP)" for flawless attention to detail

  • Appreciation potential: Extremely high potential due to strict mintage limitation and growing collector demand

  • Rarity: An extremely rare collector's coin from the "Symbolik" series

  • Manufacturer: Kettner Edelmetalle – quality by conviction

  • Country of origin: Liberia, with a face value of 20 Dollars

There are coins you buy. And there are coins you secure – before others do. The 1 oz Silver Reichsmark 2026 undoubtedly belongs to the second category. As an exclusive collector's coin from Kettner Edelmetalle, it combines historic symbolic power with state-of-the-art minting technology – and all in a mintage of only 999 pieces worldwide. Those who are passionate about silver and seek something extraordinary will find it here.

The Reichsmark Lives On – in 999.9 Fine Silver

The historic Reichsmark is long gone. But its symbolism? That lives on. With this coin, Kettner Edelmetalle has taken up a piece of German coin tradition and brought it back to life in a contemporary form. The result: a 31.1-gram silver coin with a diameter of 65 mm, crafted from the purest fine silver with a fineness of 999.9/1,000. Every detail is precise. Every line tells a story.

The Proof striking ensures that the design shines with breathtaking sharpness. Mirror-polished surfaces contrast with frosted reliefs – an interplay made possible only by the highest minting quality. The coin is of course delivered in a protective coin capsule that preserves its immaculate condition for generations to come.

What Makes This Coin a True Rarity?

Simply put: the numbers speak for themselves. With a very low mintage of just 999 pieces, availability is naturally severely limited. Experienced collectors know what that means. Once the last coin is sold out, the secondary market begins – and different prices apply there. The strict limitation of this issue makes it an object that should not be missing from any ambitious collection.

"Those who understand the history of coin minting recognise in the Reichsmark more than just a means of payment – they see a symbol of permanence in uncertain times."

For Collectors with Vision

This coin is not aimed at the casual buyer. It is intended for the connoisseur. For the collector who knows that silver coins in limited mintages hold a very special fascination. Silver has served as a coinage metal for thousands of years – from ancient drachmas to the talers of the Holy Roman Empire. Continuing this tradition, with a design deeply rooted in German numismatics, gives the Reichsmark 2026 a special standing.

  1. Historical reference: The Reichsmark design evokes memories of one of the most formative monetary eras in German history

  2. Material value: 31.1 grams of fine silver (999.9) secure a substantial intrinsic value

  3. Collector value: The combination of Proof quality and low mintage creates enormous appreciation potential

  4. Aesthetics: The milled edge and mirror-polished surface make every piece a work of art

Silver – More Than Just a Precious Metal

While gold often dominates the headlines, silver unfolds its strengths quietly. It is more affordable, more versatile, and indispensable in industry – from solar technology to electronics to medicine. This industrial demand, combined with limited availability, makes silver a fascinating commodity. And as a physical precious metal, it offers an inflation hedge that should not be underestimated in times of growing money supply. Furthermore, it serves as a proven crisis protection – an anchor when other values begin to waver.

Not to be forgotten: profits from the sale of silver are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year. A detail of considerable importance, particularly for long-term oriented collectors and investors.

Kettner Edelmetalle – Your Partner for the Extraordinary

As one of Germany's leading precious metals dealers, Kettner Edelmetalle stands not only for quality and trust, but also for the passion to create exceptional coins. The Reichsmark 2026 is a prime example of this. Here, numismatic expertise meets the highest manufacturing standards – the result is a rarity without equal.

Secure your piece of this strictly limited silver coin now, before the mintage is sold out. Because one thing is certain: 999 pieces sounds like a lot – until they are gone.
