Details of the coin’s product image

The path of the sun

Twelve sections of a year.

Sagittarius is the ninth of the twelve sections.

Seen from the Earth, the sun travels once around the sky against the stars over the course of a year, along the ecliptic.

The signs divide this path into twelve equal sections of 30 degrees each, counted from the vernal equinox point, the position of the sun at the start of spring. The constellations of the same names differ in size.

Because the Earth’s axis slowly turns like a spinning top, once in about 26,000 years, the vernal equinox point has moved by about 30 degrees since the Greek Hipparchus. Signs and constellations are therefore offset today by about one constellation.

One ounce of silver, with a diamond.

The obverse shows in the centre a sun with a face and a crescent moon, around them clouds, a mountain, flames and waves. Top right reads 20 DOLLARS, below are the coat of arms of Liberia and 9999 FINE SILVER 2026.

Among the small stars of the reverse sits a diamond like one more star, visible in the magnifier above.

A design that tells stories

The obverse of this impressive silver coin shows a powerful centaur in a classic archer's pose. The muscular upper body with flowing hair merges harmoniously with the elegant horse body. With a drawn bow and aimed arrow, he embodies the typical traits of those born under Sagittarius: a love of freedom, a thirst for adventure, and boundless energy.

Particularly fascinating: at the center, a genuine diamond captures the light and gives this collector's coin an incomparable brilliance. At the lower edge of the image, flickering flames blaze upward – the element of fire, which is associated with Sagittarius.

"The stars show the way, but fate lies in your hands" – this is the inspiring inscription on the edge of the coin.

The reverse: A cosmic masterpiece

The reverse is no less impressive. At the center sits an elaborate sun-moon depiction – a symbol for the eternal duality of the universe. Around it, the four elements unfold in masterful detail work:

  1. Air: Dramatically towering cloud formations
  2. Earth: Majestic mountain landscapes
  3. Water: Surging waves in dynamic motion
  4. Fire: Blazing flames full of energy

Along the outer edge, all twelve zodiac sign symbols are lined up in a row – a tribute to the entire zodiac. The inscription "Twelve Signs – Four Elements – One Universe" perfectly captures the philosophical depth of this design.
