Africa · Odyssey of the Sky

Martial Eagle and Bateleur

The Odyssey of the Sky of the South African Mint began in 2025 with the Bateleur, followed by the Martial Eagle in 2026. Each coin shows its face value as an R before the number, the symbol of the rand, from R5 on the ounce of silver to R200 on five ounces of gold.

The gold coins are of fine gold 999.9/1,000, the silver coins of one and two ounces of silver 999/1,000.

Beside it in the series stands the Martial Eagle, a master of soaring flight.

The eagle with the wedge-shaped tail

Its tail is long and wedge-shaped, its legs are feathered down to the toes.

Europe · Spanish Imperial Eagle and Golden Eagle

The return of the Spanish Imperial Eagle

In the 1960s only 30 pairs of the Spanish Imperial Eagle were left; in 2020 there were 530 to 540.

In August 2007 the Bald Eagle was removed from the list of endangered species in the USA.

With a mintage of only 5,000 pieces worldwide, this collector's coin is among the most sought-after new releases of the year. The South African Mint presents a masterpiece here that makes collectors' hearts beat faster.

An Eagle That Makes History

The Bateleur Eagle, also known as the "Gaukler," soars impressively across the mirror-smooth surface of this extraordinary silver coin. The highly detailed depiction shows the majestic bird of prey with outstretched wings – every single feather has been masterfully rendered in the highest minting quality Proof. This technical perfection makes every glance at the coin a visual experience.

"The Odyssey of the Sky series combines African natural beauty with the finest minting artistry – an investment that stirs emotions and creates value."

Why This Coin Enriches Your Portfolio

As an inflation hedge, this strictly limited silver coin offers several advantages at once. The very low mintage of just 5,000 pieces worldwide creates a natural scarcity that, based on experience, can lead to above-average performance. Particularly in times of economic uncertainty, investors increasingly seek tangible assets – and this is precisely where this rarity literally shines!

  1. Tax-free gains after just one year of holding
  2. Physical ownership as the ultimate crisis protection
  3. Industrial demand for silver is continuously rising
  4. Perfect size for flexible liquidity
  5. Cross-generational investment

Technical Excellence Meets Collector's Passion

With a diameter of 38.70 mm and a fine weight of exactly 31.10 grams of pure silver (999/1000), this coin meets international standards for 1-ounce bullion coins. But what truly makes it special is the combination of the lowest mintage and the highest minting quality. The Proof quality creates a mirrored background against which the frosted design stands out in high contrast – a visual masterpiece!

Your Chance for Extraordinary Appreciation

Comparable coins with similarly limited mintages have recorded impressive gains in value in the past. While standard bullion coins such as the Krugerrand are minted in editions of millions, the limitation to just 5,000 pieces makes this Odyssey edition a true collector's treasure. Experience shows: the lower the mintage, the higher the appreciation potential.

South Africa – Home of Legendary Precious Metal Mintings

The South African Mint enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide for its high-quality mintings. With the Odyssey of the Sky series, it once again demonstrates its innovative strength. The face value of 5 Rand underscores its official status as legal tender, while the actual collector's value already exceeds this significantly today.

This collector's coin combines all the qualities that savvy investors appreciate: rarity, beauty, and substantial value. Secure your piece of this extraordinary new release now – before it's too late! For with such a low mintage, one thing is certain: the available quantity will diminish quickly, and then only the secondary market remains, with corresponding premiums.
