The constellation in the sky

A hazy patch at the foot of Castor.

In Gemini, at the foot of Castor, lies the star cluster M35. On very dark nights it can be seen with the naked eye as a hazy patch.

Details of the coin’s product image

The path of the sun

Twelve sections of a year.

Gemini is the third of the twelve sections.

Seen from the Earth, the sun travels once around the sky against the stars over the course of a year, along the ecliptic.

The signs divide this path into twelve equal sections of 30 degrees each, counted from the vernal equinox point, the position of the sun at the start of spring. The constellations of the same names differ in size.

Because the Earth’s axis slowly turns like a spinning top, once in about 26,000 years, the vernal equinox point has moved by about 30 degrees since the Greek Hipparchus. Signs and constellations are therefore offset today by about one constellation.

For more than 2,500 years

In cuneiform, in books, on clocks.

  1. BabylonThe cuneiform series MUL.APIN, preserved in copies from the 7th century BC onwards, names 17 constellations along the ecliptic.
  2. PtolemyAround AD 150, Ptolemy gathered more than a thousand stars into 48 constellations in the Almagest. At its core, our system today is his.
  3. Très Riches HeuresIn the book of hours of the Duke of Berry, now in Chantilly, each month’s picture shows the two zodiac signs of the month at the top.

The finish

Silver, gilded in parts.

Gilded are the outer rim and, depending on the sign, parts of the design such as rock, horns or hair. The rest of the figure stays silver.

On the obverse the sun, 20 DOLLARS, the words Republic of Liberia and the coat of arms are gilded.

Selectively gilded means: only chosen areas of the design carry a thin layer of gold.

Anyone wishing to combine the fascination of astrology with a passion for fine minting artistry will immediately take notice of this exclusive collector's coin from the "Zodiac" series. The 1 oz Silver Zodiac Gemini 2026 is far more than a classic silver strike – it is a miniature work of art that captures the dual-faced nature of the zodiac sign Gemini in an extraordinary way.

A design that tells the soul of Gemini

On the obverse, two elegant, mirror-image figures gaze at one another in quiet intimacy. Their flowing, gold-shimmering hair frames their silver faces, creating a breathtaking contrast between cool white silver and warm gold. In the background, a star-studded night sky glitters, while between the figures the ornately decorated Gemini symbol "II" is displayed prominently. The surrounding inscription "GEMINI – KNOWLEDGE & WORDS – THE STARS POINT THE WAY, BUT DESTINY LIES IN YOUR HANDS" lends the coin poetic depth.

"The stars point the way, but destiny lies in your hands." – an inscription that perfectly describes the character of this collector's coin.

The reverse – Twelve signs, four elements, one universe

The reverse depicts a richly detailed universe: clouds, mountains, water and fire – the four elements – flow together in four quadrants, at the center of which sits a gold-shimmering sun-and-moon motif. Around the coin's edge, all twelve zodiac signs appear as delicate symbols. The face value "20 Dollars" in gold, along with the inscriptions "Republic of Liberia" and "9999 FINE SILVER 2026," complete this sophisticated composition.

Why this strike makes collectors' hearts beat faster

The combination of finest silver minting, elegant partial gilding and mirror-finish Proof quality makes this piece a highlight in any collection. With only 250 pieces minted worldwide, this issue carries a pronounced rarity character. Compared to classic bullion coins with mintages in the millions – such as the Maple Leaf or the Vienna Philharmonic – this strike operates in an entirely different league: it is primarily a connoisseur's piece with significant collector value.

Who is this edition particularly suited for?

This rarity is aimed specifically at collectors seeking expressive designs and extremely small mintages. Whether as a gift for someone born under the sign of Gemini, as the centerpiece of a complete zodiac collection, or as a standalone showpiece in a display cabinet – this coin makes an impact wherever it is presented. Anyone who loves silver coins with artistic flair will treasure this strike for a long time to come.

Silver has been the coinage metal of kings and merchants for thousands of years – a tradition that lives on impressively in this modern strike.

Silver – the timeless precious metal for collectors

Silver holds not only industrial significance in electronics, solar and medical technology, but also an intrinsic value rooted in its physical scarcity and durability. Of particular interest to collectors: profits from the sale of physical silver are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year. Anyone wishing to further round out their portfolio with products for inflation hedging or as crisis protection will find suitable bullion coins and bars within Kettner's range – this piece, however, is a pure collector's gem.

Secure one of the coveted 250 pieces of the 1 oz Silver Zodiac Gemini 2026 now – before this extraordinary strike disappears for good into the hands of dedicated collectors.
