The path of the sun
Twelve sections of a year.
Taurus is the second of the twelve sections.
Seen from the Earth, the sun travels once around the sky against the stars over the course of a year, along the ecliptic.
The signs divide this path into twelve equal sections of 30 degrees each, counted from the vernal equinox point, the position of the sun at the start of spring. The constellations of the same names differ in size.
Because the Earth’s axis slowly turns like a spinning top, once in about 26,000 years, the vernal equinox point has moved by about 30 degrees since the Greek Hipparchus. Signs and constellations are therefore offset today by about one constellation.
For more than 2,500 years
In cuneiform, in books, on clocks.
- BabylonThe cuneiform series MUL.APIN, preserved in copies from the 7th century BC onwards, names 17 constellations along the ecliptic.
- PtolemyAround AD 150, Ptolemy gathered more than a thousand stars into 48 constellations in the Almagest. At its core, our system today is his.
- Très Riches HeuresIn the book of hours of the Duke of Berry, now in Chantilly, each month’s picture shows the two zodiac signs of the month at the top.
- PragueThe astronomical clock has stood on the Old Town Hall since 1410, today with calendar, zodiac and clock.

Whether you are passionate about the earth sign Taurus or simply appreciate true treasures in your collection, you will find here a piece that is far more than an ordinary coin.
A Design Straight from a Star Atlas
The reverse shows the bull in its full, powerful pose: muscular, sure-footed, almost snorting – and yet possessed of an almost majestic calm. Its gilded horns and gold-gleaming hooves create striking accents as it stands on a field of brilliantly golden boulders. Above, small golden stars sparkle against a deep black night sky. The inscription "TAURUS – STRENGTH & STABILITY" frames the design, while along the lower edge appears the poetic motto: "The stars show the way, but fate lies in your hands."
Twelve signs. Four elements. One universe. – The series that immortalises astrology in precious metal.
The obverse is no less opulent: distributed across four quadrants are clouds, mountains, waves and blazing flames – the four elements of air, earth, water and fire. At the centre sits a golden sun-moon cartouche, while all twelve zodiac signs are engraved around the outer edge. The face value "20 Dollars" is displayed in elegant gold lettering, below which appear the origin "Republic of Liberia" and the designation "9999 FINE SILVER 2026".
Only 250 Pieces Worldwide – A True Rarity
What makes this coin a special find among all silver coins is its uncompromisingly strict mintage limit: only 250 pieces were struck worldwide. This very low mintage makes the issue a true rarity that sets collectors' hearts racing. Particularly in the field of thematic series, the rule holds: the lower the number of pieces, the more coveted – and the more exciting the prospects for future developments on the collector's market.
Highest Minting Quality Meets Noble Partial Gilding
The coin was produced in the highest minting quality Proof. This means: multiply polished dies, meticulous handwork and a result that is unrivalled in terms of depth of focus, mirror finish and fidelity to detail. The partial gilding highlights the most important design elements and creates a fascinating contrast with the radiant silver. 31.1 g of purest silver with a fineness of 999.9/1,000, a diameter of 40 mm and a finely reeded edge complete the distinguished overall appearance.
Who Is This Issue Suited For?
- For passionate collectors of astrological themed series
- For those born under Taurus (21 April – 20 May) as a high-quality gift

Silver has, in any case, held a special appeal for thousands of years as a coinage metal, as a store of value and as an inflation hedge. The close connection between astrological symbol and the finest material makes the Zodiac Taurus an unmistakable gem.
Tax note for collectors: Gains from the sale of physical silver coins are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year – a pleasant secondary consideration, even if the joy of collecting and of tangible precious metal is what matters most to many. For collectors who are also thinking about comprehensive crisis protection, such a rarity makes a wonderful addition to one's own precious metals collection.
