The designs

The pandas from 2020 to 2026

The Panda has been made in gold since 1982 and in silver since 1983, and since 2016 in grams instead of ounces. The designs of 2019, 2021, 2024 and 2025 show a panda mother with her young. Here are the issues we carry.

  2. The panda of the 2025 issue, image2025The mother with two cubs

The panda

At home in the bamboo, high in the mountains.

Giant pandas live in a few mountain ranges in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu, in damp, misty mountain forests with dense bamboo, at an altitude of around 1,500 to 3,000 metres.

Around 99 per cent of their food is bamboo, and a panda spends 10 to 16 hours a day finding and eating it. Its “sixth finger” helps with this: not a finger, but an enlarged bone in the wrist that grips like a thumb.

A panda cub is born pink, hairless and blind. It then weighs 85 to 142 grams and is about the size of a stick of butter. Adult pandas mostly live alone and communicate through scent marks and calls.

Proof, one kilogram

One kilogram of silver in proof quality, 100 millimetres in diameter, with a face value of 300 Yuan: a mirror-like field and a matt relief.

Parts of the design shimmer in colour, as the image shows.

The Temple of Heaven

On the other side stands the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests.

There the coin shows the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, with the name of the country in the ring above it and the year below.

The hall is round and has three tiers, with a conical roof. Here the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties prayed for good harvests. The complex was completed in 1420 and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.

One kilogram of pure silver, a diameter of a full 100 millimetres and a design that, in its iridescent splendour, almost seems alive – welcome to one of the most spectacular issues of the famous Panda series. The Silver China Panda 2026 in the finest of all mint qualities is far more than just a coin: it is a total work of art, cast from tradition, craftsmanship and quiet brilliance.

A design that captures the soul of China

On the obverse, three seated pandas frolic – that endearing national symbol that has been winning collectors' hearts around the globe since 1982. The fine depth of detail of the Proof finish makes every hair, every fold in the fur, every playful glance feel almost tangible. On the reverse, the famous Temple of Heaven in Beijing reigns supreme, the symbol of harmony between heaven and earth. The design is further enhanced by an iridescent effect that shimmers in shifting colour nuances depending on the angle of light. This optical magic clearly sets the coin apart from classic Panda issues.

"Anyone who holds a kilogram Panda in Proof immediately senses: this is no mere investment – this is passion in its purest form."

Strictly limited – a treasure for true connoisseurs

The fact that this collector's coin has been limited to just 10,000 pieces worldwide makes it a veritable rarity. When one considers how many Panda fans, investors and numismatists are hunting for every new issue, it quickly becomes clear: such a very low mintage meets a globally growing demand. It is precisely this constellation that can unlock considerable appreciation potential – not as a promise, but simply as a consequence of economic scarcity.

Silver – the underestimated precious metal with a dual drive

While gold has always been celebrated as the king of precious metals, silver fulfils two key roles simultaneously: that of the historic monetary metal and that of the indispensable industrial raw material. Whether solar technology, electronics, medical technology or electric mobility – hardly any future-oriented industry can do without the white precious metal. This dual demand gives silver coins like the kilo Panda a special standing.

Why act now?

Anyone looking to diversify their wealth will find a reliable partner in silver. It preserves purchasing power, serves as a tangible inflation hedge and possesses an intrinsic value that no printing press can shake. Added to this is the tax appeal: in Germany, capital gains after a holding period of more than twelve months are generally tax-free.

Comparison: Kilo Panda Proof vs. classic bullion coin

  • A conventional 1-ounce Panda issue is ideal for a gradual entry into the market.
  • The 1 kg Panda in Proof, on the other hand, combines investment character with a pronounced collector's value.
  • While standard coins appear in mintages of millions, this issue stands out clearly with only 10,000 pieces.
  • The enormous size and the iridescent design create a collecting experience that ordinary bullion coins simply cannot offer.

Crisis-proof, value-stable, fascinating

Silver was accepted as a means of payment for millennia – from the Phoenicians through the Roman Empire to the thalers of the Middle Ages. It is precisely this historical substance that makes it a solid building block in personal crisis protection today. Anyone who owns one kilogram of fine silver in this extraordinary finish holds a piece of living monetary history in their hands – combined with the aesthetic appeal of Far Eastern symbolism.

Three pandas, one temple, one thousand grams of the purest silver – and the quiet certainty of owning something truly rare.

Secure your piece of this extraordinary collector's coin now, before the strict limited mintage is absorbed by the market. At Kettner Edelmetalle you will receive this issue as a fixed-price item, with free shipping and secure insured delivery – so that your new treasure arrives safely with you.
