The designs
The pandas from 2020 to 2026
The Panda has been made in gold since 1982 and in silver since 1983, and since 2016 in grams instead of ounces. The designs of 2019, 2021, 2024 and 2025 show a panda mother with her young. Here are the issues we carry.

The panda
At home in the bamboo, high in the mountains.
Giant pandas live in a few mountain ranges in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu, in damp, misty mountain forests with dense bamboo, at an altitude of around 1,500 to 3,000 metres.
Around 99 per cent of their food is bamboo, and a panda spends 10 to 16 hours a day finding and eating it. Its “sixth finger” helps with this: not a finger, but an enlarged bone in the wrist that grips like a thumb.
A panda cub is born pink, hairless and blind. It then weighs 85 to 142 grams and is about the size of a stick of butter. Adult pandas mostly live alone and communicate through scent marks and calls.
Golden Ring
It is based on the 30-gram silver coin of the 2021 issue. The pandas and the tree are gilded, the field is dark, and on the other side the temple and the legend are gilded, as the image shows. According to the product sheet, the finishing is private and has nothing to do with the official issue.

The Temple of Heaven
On the other side stands the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests.
There the coin shows the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, with the name of the country in the ring above it and the year below.
The hall is round and has three tiers, with a conical roof. Here the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties prayed for good harvests. The complex was completed in 1420 and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.

What the coin bears
The base coin is issued by the People’s Bank of China, the country’s central bank. The side with the panda bears the weight, the fineness and the face value in Yuan.
On this coin it is 10 Yuan.

Aesthetics and Quality
The coin features a beautiful, partially gilded design of a giant panda in the foreground and a cub climbing a eucalyptus tree in the background. Silver has long proven itself as a store of value and crisis protection product and offers a good way to diversify a portfolio. Profits from the sale of silver are generally tax-free, provided the holding period is at least one year. Furthermore, silver is held by many central banks as a reserve currency to support the stability of the financial system.
