Molten gold flows from the crucible into an ingot mould

Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim

Gold from the Golden City.

It began with the dust of the workshops.

Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.

The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.

1845

This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.

Inside the works

From scrap to bar.

  1. Old silver, coins and pieces of jewellery slide from a shovel into a glowing crucible

    The scrap

Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

  2. A melter pours molten metal from the crucible, sparks flying

    The pour

Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

  3. Gold and silver bars by Heimerle + Meule on slate

    The bar

At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.

A house that carries on.

  1. 1945

    In ruins

On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.

  2. 1977

    The Brötzinger Tal

The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.

  3. 2010

    Bars for investors

Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.

  4. 2014

    Good Delivery

On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

HEIMERLE + MEULE
The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.

Made to last.

The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.

Manufacturer: Heimerle + Meule GmbH, gold and silver refinery, Dennigstraße 16, Pforzheim.

  • Investment goal: With gold bars you protect your wealth exceptionally effectively from inflation – silver bars work in a very similar way as a second pillar in a tangible asset portfolio.
  • Wealth preservation: Minted fine gold is a perfect store of value that preserves the true substance of your wealth and carries it through generations.
  • Protection: Especially in times of inflation, recession and runaway government debt, you protect your savings with physical gold – without a counterparty, without promises from third parties.
  • Crisis protection: ten individual miniature bars that can be used as a medium of exchange in small portions – at home as well as abroad.
  • Quality: Heimerle + Meule from Pforzheim, Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery, founded in 1845 and LBMA-certified.

10 x 0.1 g Gold Bars Heimerle + Meule – Real Money in Ten Portions

One gram of fine gold, divided into ten tiny bars: that's exactly what this bundle is about. You receive 10 x 0.1 g gold bars from Heimerle and Meule, each with a fineness of 999.9/1,000, each individually protected in a coin card from Kettner Edelmetalle. The total fine weight is 1 g. Tiny? Yes. Insignificant? Not at all. Because small denominations are what give you the ability to act in an emergency – and that's exactly what this set was put together for.

Crisis Protection First: Divisible, Discreet, Usable Anywhere

Anyone practicing precautionary planning thinks in scenarios. A power outage lasting days, a disrupted supply chain, a currency reform, political unrest, an unexpected trip abroad: in such emergency situations, what matters is not how heavy the contents of your safe are, but how finely they can be used. This is exactly where small bars play to their strengths. They fit easily into a wallet for travel without attracting attention, and in a barter situation you only give up as much substance as is actually necessary.

  • Divisibility: Ten units instead of one block – you trade in portions and remain flexible.
  • Discretion: A card-sized coin card disappears into any wallet; gold is recognized worldwide as currency.
  • Security: Brilliant Uncirculated new stock, protected in a blister pack from fingerprints and scratches.
  • Combinable: Ideal alongside other small denominations in gold and silver – such as fractional-ounce gold coins and common silver coins.
  • Shipping: Insured value shipping, packaged discreetly.

Inflation hedge and wealth preservation as a solid foundation

Fiat money is printed, gold has to be found, melted and cast. This scarcity is why the metal has served as a store of value for over 6,000 years – from ancient Egypt through the Silk Road to the gold standard of the 19th century. Gold has never had a value of zero, because its intrinsic value does not depend on any government. Even the world's largest gold holders, the central banks, hold the metal as a reserve – a clear signal of the state of trust in paper currencies. The inflation hedge follows naturally from this principle: while the purchasing power of account balances shrinks, one gram of fine gold remains one gram of fine gold.

Gold is humanity's oldest currency. It has shone for thousands of years – and will never lose its shine.

Quality from Pforzheim – Tradition Since 1845

Heimerle + Meule was founded in Pforzheim in 1845 and is considered Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery. Since June 2014, the London Bullion Market Association has listed the company for gold bars on its Good Delivery List – the international industry standard for quality. On the front of the bar you can see the inscription "HEIMERLE + MEULE", the designation "FINE GOLD 999.9", the characteristic smelter figure emblem with the year 1845, the weight "0.1 g", as well as the "melter assayer" hallmark. German precision in miniature format, cleanly minted, clearly legible.

Bundle or Individual Bars? An Honest Comparison

Larger gram gold bars or ounce formats come with a lower premium per gram – but if needed, you always have to sell the entire bar. The bundle of ten 0.1 g bars reverses this ratio: you pay a higher manufacturing share for the minting and packaging of the small format, but gain maximum flexibility. An advantage that is hard to capture in numbers, but that can decide everything in a crisis. Many investors therefore deliberately pursue a dual strategy: larger units for long-term wealth building, small bars and coins for everyday use and precautionary planning.

Tax-Attractive, Liquid at Any Time

Investment gold is exempt from VAT in Germany. Profits from the sale are generally tax-free if the holding period is at least one year. The value follows the gold price, and high liquidity ensures that fine gold can be converted back into cash worldwide. Anyone who buys this bundle secures purchasing power – calmly, physically and tangibly.
