Molten gold flows from the crucible into an ingot mould

Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim

Gold from the Golden City.

It began with the dust of the workshops.

Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.

The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.

1845

This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.

Inside the works

From scrap to bar.

  1. Old silver, coins and pieces of jewellery slide from a shovel into a glowing crucible

    The scrap

Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

  2. A melter pours molten metal from the crucible, sparks flying

    The pour

Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

  3. Gold and silver bars by Heimerle + Meule on slate

    The bar

At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.

A house that carries on.

  1. 1945

    In ruins

On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.

  2. 1977

    The Brötzinger Tal

The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.

  3. 2010

    Bars for investors

Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.

  4. 2014

    Good Delivery

On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

200 x 1/200 oz Gold Bar Heimerle und Meule (Kettner Edelmetalle)

Kettner Edelmetalle Edition

Bars by Heimerle + Meule.

The bars in this edition bear the mark of Heimerle + Meule, and our name is on the packaging.

On the bar

What the marks say.

999.9
The fineness in parts per thousand: out of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure gold.
1845
The caster. Since 1933 he has been the emblem of the house. In the round stamp, he stands above the year 1845.
melter assayer
The one who melts the metal and the one who tests it. Next to these words stands the mark of the house.
HEIMERLE + MEULE
The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.

From dust came a name.

Made to last.

The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.

200 x 1/200 oz Gold Bars Heimerle und Meule – Your Fine Gold Reserve for the Next Crisis

  • Crisis protection: 200 individually usable fine gold bars as a medium of exchange for various emergency situations – at home, on the road, or abroad.
  • Investment goal: With gold bars – and additionally with silver bars – you can effectively fend off the gradual devaluation of your savings.
  • Value preservation: Gold bars are a store of value par excellence; they preserve the actual substance of your wealth over decades.
  • Hedging: Especially in times of high inflation, economic downturns, and spiraling government debt, physical gold provides you with a resilient reinsurance.
  • Fineness: 999.9/1,000 fine gold, minted by Heimerle + Meule in Pforzheim – LBMA Good Delivery, country of origin Germany.
  • Security: each bar is firmly embedded in an RFID-blocker card in the Kettner Edelmetalle design, brand new and Brilliant Uncirculated.

Crises rarely announce themselves politely. Anyone who wants to remain capable of acting then doesn't need one single large piece of metal, but rather many small ones – divisible, inconspicuous, immediately usable. That is exactly what this bundle delivers: 200 x 1/200 oz gold bars Heimerle und Meule (Kettner Edelmetalle). Together, the bars amount to 32 g fine weight at 32.03 g gross weight – spread across 200 separate units that you can use, give away, pass on, or exchange independently of one another.

Why 200 mini bars are stronger in an emergency than a single block

A kilo bar cannot be cut into slices. Small denominations in gold and silver, on the other hand, are the classic emergency currency: you exchange exactly as much substance as you actually need – for food, fuel, medication, or a short-term border crossing. The credit-card-sized cards can be easily carried in your wallet while traveling without drawing attention. No jingling, no weight, no fuss. That's precisely why the smallest units, not the largest, are the most popular products for crisis scenarios.

Gold is humanity's oldest currency and has outlived every paper currency that stood in its way. It has intrinsic value, has never fallen to zero, and is accepted worldwide as a means of payment and exchange. It's no coincidence that central banks themselves are the world's largest holders of gold – a telling verdict on the fiat money they print themselves.

Heimerle + Meule: Pforzheim precision since 1845

The manufacturer is one of the most renowned refineries in Europe. The company logo with the year 1845, the "melter assayer" stamp, and the HEIMERLE+MEULE lettering are cleanly stamped on every bar – as are the denomination (1/200 oz), metal designation (FINE GOLD), and fineness (999.9). Heimerle + Meule is listed on the LBMA's Gold Delivery List and certified according to the Responsible Gold Guidance. This means: worldwide recognition, hassle-free resale, no discussion about origin or purity.

The RFID-blocker card: protective sleeve and proof of authenticity in one

Each tiny bar sits firmly sealed in a robust card in the Kettner design bearing the motto "Real money, for 6,000 years." The integrated RFID-blocker function shields contactless cards in your wallet against unauthorized reading – turning this crisis component into an everyday companion. At the same time, the casing protects the wafer-thin bar from damage and loss; an undamaged seal is considered an important trust feature in the trade.

Inflation hedge and value preservation with 32 grams of fine gold

Fiat money can be multiplied at the push of a button, gold cannot. Supply is scarce, mining is elaborate, and reserves are finite – which is why gold has served as protection against loss of purchasing power and currency risks for millennia. Anyone with physical metal in hand no longer needs to rely on trust in institutions. Gold has gleamed since antiquity and will never lose its shine; as an inflation hedge, it remains the benchmark – the big brother of little silver.

Those who prepare in 200 small steps remain flexible in a crisis – and can deploy exactly the amount of gold the moment demands, at any time.

Comparison: 1/200 oz versus larger denominations

A 1 g, 10 g, or 100 g bar offers a lower premium per gram – that is the clear advantage of larger units and the reason why they form the core of many holdings. The advantage of the 1/200 oz bars lies elsewhere: in divisibility, discretion, and exchangeability. If card payments fail, a kilo bar won't help you, but a handful of cards from your inside pocket will. It therefore makes sense to combine the two: large bars as the foundation, this bundle as a flexible reserve, supplemented by silver coins for very small needs.

Tax, condition, and delivery

Investment gold is exempt from VAT in Germany pursuant to § 25c UStG – your capital works entirely within the metal. After a minimum holding period of one year, profits from the sale of gold are generally tax-free for private individuals in Germany (not tax advice). As already described for the individual items, the following applies to minted mini bars: you receive Brilliant Uncirculated, brand-new goods in their original condition; minimal, production-related marks cannot be ruled out at this grade and do not diminish the material value. Shipping is carried out as insured, discreet value shipping.

Gold can be passed down through generations, it does not corrode, it does not tire, it requires no maintenance. This bundle makes these properties available in 200 convenient portions – a well-thought-out building block for investors and collectors who don't want to postpone provisioning.
