Red List categories according to BirdLife International.

North America · Bald Eagle

The eagle with the white head

The insecticide DDT had made its eggshells brittle. When it was removed from the list, at least 9,789 breeding pairs lived in the 48 contiguous states.

The largest known Bald Eagle nest was 2.9 metres wide and 6.1 metres high. The oldest known wild bird lived to at least 38 years.

The Bald Eagle appears on coins from Gabon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and on a bar from PAMP. They are joined by eagle designs without a named species: private rounds without a face value from the USA and the Native Americans ounce from Cameroon.

Africa · Odyssey of the Sky

Martial Eagle and Bateleur

The Odyssey of the Sky of the South African Mint began in 2025 with the Bateleur, followed by the Martial Eagle in 2026. Each coin shows its face value as an R before the number, the symbol of the rand.

Australia · Wedge-tailed Eagle

The eagle with the wedge-shaped tail

Its tail is long and wedge-shaped, its legs are feathered down to the toes.

Europe · Spanish Imperial Eagle and Golden Eagle

The return of the Spanish Imperial Eagle

In the 1960s only 30 pairs of the Spanish Imperial Eagle were left; in 2020 there were 530 to 540.

Small in size, clear in substance: The Gold Bald Eagle Coin from the 2025 minting year combines the finest minting craftsmanship with the tangible value of physical gold. Anyone wishing to build up wealth in manageable units will find here an uncomplicated entry point into the world of gold coins. Even though this edition is listed in our collector's coins category, one thing takes priority: the fine gold it contains, whose value is primarily determined by the gold price.

A design with character – substance made of fine gold

The design shows the Bald Eagle in all its dignity. On the coin, the striking eagle head is finely chiseled in profile, accompanied by the lettering "BALD EAGLE". On the blister card, the bird of prey majestically spreads its wings, while a silhouette of North American wildlife with bears, deer, and coniferous forests appears in the foreground. The Bald Eagle is regarded as the heraldic animal of the USA and has long stood as a symbol of freedom, strength, and independence. As beautiful as this design's personal touch may be, the real reason to buy remains the pure gold. The reverse features the coat of arms of Gabon with two panthers, the fineness indication "999/1000 FINE GOLD", as well as the face value of 1,000 CFA francs, confirming the official legitimacy and numismatic authenticity of the minting.

Part of the popular bird series from Gabon

This issue joins a motif series popular among investors centered on wildlife, reissued year after year in fine gold. Each coin is delivered Brilliant Uncirculated in a decorative blister card, into which the gold piece is precisely set. It is precisely the clearly limited mintage that creates the appeal: where supply is naturally kept scarce, steady demand meets a fixed ceiling – a circumstance that can generate additional interest in a rarity like this one over the years.

Small units, genuine investment gold

Coins of this size are particularly well suited to building up physical gold step by step. Small amounts of gold add up over the years to a considerable fortune – while remaining tradable and resalable at any time. Gold is the oldest currency in the world: it has been shining for thousands of years, possesses intrinsic value, and has never been worth zero.

  • Value preservation: gold has been a proven store of value for over 6,000 years and a scarce commodity with limited supply.
  • Inflation hedge: as a real tangible asset, gold offers solid inflation hedge against loss of purchasing power.
  • Crisis protection: in uncertain times, gold proves itself as a stable anchor for crisis protection.
  • Liquidity: recognized worldwide and convertible into cash at any time.

Compared to larger gold bars or heavier bullion coins, this format scores with its low capital requirement: instead of investing all at once, you can gradually expand your own gold holdings according to your budget. One drawback remains the mintage-related higher premium per gram – in return, you receive verified, divisible fine gold in a handy denomination, which is also traded VAT-free.

Despite the personal design, what you acquire here is full-fledged investment gold – minted fine gold whose value is based on the gold price.

Would you like to give a genuine gold investment as a gift? Whether for a christening, birthday, or wedding: with this coin, you're not handing over a mere souvenir, but recognized physical gold – an asset that can be passed down through generations. And thanks to the fundamental tax exemption on sale after a minimum holding period of one year, the full value is preserved.
