The constellation in the sky

Antares is an orange-red star and one of the brightest in the night sky. Right next to it lies the globular cluster M4, best seen in July.
In our latitudes Scorpius does not rise very high above the horizon.

The path of the sun
Twelve sections of a year.
Scorpio is the eighth of the twelve sections.
Seen from the Earth, the sun travels once around the sky against the stars over the course of a year, along the ecliptic.
The signs divide this path into twelve equal sections of 30 degrees each, counted from the vernal equinox point, the position of the sun at the start of spring. The constellations of the same names differ in size.
Because the Earth’s axis slowly turns like a spinning top, once in about 26,000 years, the vernal equinox point has moved by about 30 degrees since the Greek Hipparchus. Signs and constellations are therefore offset today by about one constellation.

In cuneiform, in books, on clocks.
- BabylonThe cuneiform series MUL.APIN, preserved in copies from the 7th century BC onwards, names 17 constellations along the ecliptic.
- PtolemyAround AD 150, Ptolemy gathered more than a thousand stars into 48 constellations in the Almagest. At its core, our system today is his.
- Très Riches HeuresIn the book of hours of the Duke of Berry, now in Chantilly, each month’s picture shows the two zodiac signs of the month at the top.
- PragueThe astronomical clock has stood on the Old Town Hall since 1410, today with calendar, zodiac and clock.

Some mintages immediately catch the eye. That is exactly what the 1/200 oz Gold Zodiac Scorpio 2026 achieves: within the smallest of spaces, masterful minting artistry condenses into a design full of strength and transformation. Above all, you hold a piece of pure gold in your hands – substance whose value has endured for over 6,000 years and which, as humanity's oldest currency, has outlasted all others.
A design between the starry sky and the four elements
The obverse shows an intricately crafted scorpion with raised tail and outstretched pincers. Its segmented shell appears almost alive as it rises above ornamental, baroque-style flowing waves. A fine starry sky sparkles to the left and right, while the astrological scorpion symbol sits in a small circle at the bottom center. The inscription reads: "Scorpio • Strength & Transformation • The stars point the way, but fate lies in your hands."
"Twelve signs – Four elements – One universe" – this is how the reverse encircles its center of sun and moon.
On the reverse, the surface is divided into four quadrants representing the elements of water, fire, earth, and air: raging waves beside blazing flames, rugged mountain ranges beside drifting clouds. At the center, sun and moon merge into a double face, framed on the outside by the twelve zodiac signs. The face value "25 Dollars," the inscription "Republic of Liberia," and "1/200 Fine Gold 2026" complete the design and identify the coin as official legal tender.
Highest minting quality: Proof
The most elaborate refinement technique in coin minting ennobles this edition. The Proof finish creates deep black, mirror-polished background surfaces, against which the matted, sculpturally raised reliefs stand out in striking contrast. Every segment of the shell, every pincer, and every wave crest thus appears three-dimensional. Such surfaces are sensitive to touch – delivery is therefore made in a protective, high-quality coin card that permanently preserves the precious fine gold.
Small gold, substantial value
With a diameter of 14.00 mm and a fine weight of 0.16 g, this coin ranks among the smallest gold coins in existence. The advantage: it allows for an entry into physical gold investment in manageable steps. Small amounts of gold add up over the years into substantial wealth. What matters here is not the design but the fine gold it contains – that is the true substance and the reason why this coin preserves value and remains tradable at any time.
Gold is recognized worldwide, highly liquid, and can be converted into cash at any time. It carries an intrinsic value, has never been worth zero, and has always served as a proven inflation hedge as well as crisis protection. It is not without reason that central banks around the world hold gold as a reserve. Profits from the private sale of physical gold are, in principle, tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.
Strictly limited – a rarity with substance
Only 5,000 pieces exist worldwide. This very low mintage makes the edition a sought-after rarity: where supply is strictly limited and demand for zodiac series remains strong, room is created for long-term value appreciation. Do not think of this coin merely as a collector's coin, but rather as full-fledged investment gold with a personal touch – minted fine gold whose value follows the gold price.
