Bitcoin 2025, 0.5 g of gold, obverse

Bitcoin’s creator himself took gold as the comparison: in 2008 in the white paper, in 2010 on a forum. Here the Bitcoin sign stands on 0.5 grams of fine gold, in a mintage of 1,000 pieces.

On the obverse

Four words around the sign

In the centre stands the Bitcoin sign. The arc around it reads DECENTRALIZED • BITCOIN • DIGITAL • PEER TO PEER, below it stand the weight, the metal and BTC, the abbreviation of the unit in the Bitcoin software.

Bitcoin’s early texts use the same words. Satoshi Nakamoto called the system decentralised, with no server and no central authority, when he released the first software in January 2009.

Bitcoin’s white paper of 2008 describes an electronic coin as a chain of digital signatures. Peer-to-peer, from participant to participant, is already in its title.

The comparison with gold miners

The Bitcoin white paper, announced on 31 October 2008, compares the steady addition of new coins with gold miners:

“… analogous to gold miners expending resources to add gold to circulation. In our case, it is CPU time and electricity that is expended.”

Bitcoin white paper, section 6, “Incentive”

The same section explains why new coins come about this way: there is no central authority that issues them. The World Gold Council calls gold “no one’s liability”: it is not a promise that someone else has to keep.

3 January 2009

A newspaper line in the first block

Bitcoin writes its entries into blocks that form a chain. The first block holds a line from a newspaper:

“The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks”

A forum post, 2010

As scarce as gold

On 27 August 2010, Satoshi Nakamoto posted a thought experiment on a forum, with gold as the measure of scarcity:

“As a thought experiment, imagine there was a base metal as scarce as gold …”

Satoshi Nakamoto, bitcointalk.org forum, 27 August 2010

By “scarce” he only means a limited potential supply, as he explains in the post.

He had named the supply of Bitcoin in 2009: 21 million coins in total. The smallest unit is called a satoshi, one hundred-millionth of a bitcoin.

The World Gold Council describes gold itself as scarce. The mintage of this piece is fixed: 1,000 pieces.

A medal in copper

Bullion, not bits

One medal in our range bears BULLION NOT BITS above a pair of scales. Bullion means gold or silver in bars, a bit is the smallest unit of information in a computer: bars, not bits.

Or, as we put it:

Gold is the real crypto.

Crypto comes from the Greek kryptós, meaning hidden.

Outside the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the bull and the bear stand as bronze sculptures. On our issue both stand in gold, the bear on the side with the face value.

In both quoted passages, gold is the comparison: for the effort of the gold miners and for the measure of scarcity. This piece brings the sign into metal that you hold in your hand.

How much gold there is in the world

0.5g Gold Bitcoin 2025 – the digital money revolution in the purest fine gold

  • Strictly limited: only 1,000 pieces worldwide – a genuine rarity of the 2025 minting year.
  • Growth potential: high appreciation potential thanks to the strict mintage limit and the persistently strong demand for Bitcoin designs.
  • Sought-after coinage: as a collector's coin with an extremely low mintage, exceptionally coveted.
  • Design: the striking Bitcoin “B” set amid intricate circuit-board and microchip patterns – a symbol of the decentralized crypto world.
  • Material / fineness: 0.5 g of the purest fine gold at the highest purity of 999.9/1,000.
  • Minting quality: the highest possible quality, Proof (PP), with a mirrored background.
  • Manufacturer: exclusively minted by Kettner Edelmetalle.
  • Country of origin: official issue of the Republic of Liberia, produced in Germany.

Humanity's oldest currency meets the symbol of the digital era: the 0.5g Gold Bitcoin 2025 combines physical gold with the world-famous Bitcoin logo. As a strictly limited collector's coin, this issue is capped at just 1,000 pieces worldwide, making it one of the true rarities among current gold coins. What truly matters, however, is the substance: 0.5 grams of the purest fine gold, whose value is tied to the gold price. That is precisely what makes this Bitcoin coin so appealing – a contemporary design on an age-old store of value.

A design like a manifesto of the digital era

At the center of the obverse, the raised Bitcoin “B” dominates the design, crossed by its two characteristic vertical strokes. It is framed by precisely rendered circuit traces, connection points, and chips that make the digital nature of the cryptocurrency tangible. Along the upper rim runs the inscription “DECENTRALIZED • BITCOIN • DIGITAL • PEER TO PEER,” while the lower rim reads “0.5G FINE GOLD.” The reverse features a stylized chip motif with the Bitcoin symbol, the face value “25 Dollars,” the national coat of arms, along with the lettering “REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA” and the year of issue 2025. As official legal tender of Liberia, the coin carries an official face value – though its true value lies far above that. Every line has been immortalized on a mere 11 mm diameter, and the Proof minting quality makes the raised details stand out in striking contrast against the mirror-like background.

Why this coin is so special

Its appeal lies in the combination of a stable-value precious metal and deliberate scarcity. Experienced investors know: the smaller the mintage, the more strongly scarcity can drive up the collector's value of a crypto coin. Comparable Bitcoin-themed coins have often sold out quickly in the past.

  • Extremely scarce mintage of only 1,000 pieces worldwide – exclusivity is guaranteed.
  • 0.5 g of fine gold (999.9) as a tangible, readily tradable asset.
  • Bitcoin as one of the most defining economic themes of our time.
  • First-class Proof quality for maximum detail and brilliance.
  • An elegant coin card that protects the coin while presenting it beautifully.

Compact investment gold with a personal touch

Despite its modern crypto design, what you acquire here is genuine investment gold – minted fine gold whose value is measured by the gold price. Gold has been a proven store of value for over 6,000 years, possesses intrinsic worth, and has never been devalued to zero. Physical gold is also recognized worldwide, highly liquid, and can be resold without complication. Profits from the sale of physical gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year. Traditionally, gold is also widely regarded as a solid building block for inflation hedging and crisis protection. Small units like this one are especially well suited to building up physical gold holdings step by step – small amounts accumulate over the years into considerable wealth. And for those wishing to give genuine investment gold as a gift on occasions such as birthdays or christenings, this coin combines fine gold value with a design that stands for progress and the future.

Gold is the currency of kings, Bitcoin the idea of the digital age – this coin unites both worlds in just 0.5 grams of pure fine gold.

Anyone seeking a limited gold coin with character and genuine fine gold value will find a rare opportunity in the 0.5g Gold Bitcoin 2025. It is best secured while the limited edition of 1,000 pieces is still available at all – as experience shows, such an extremely low mintage tends to sell out quickly.
