The tenth edition of the popular Prehistoric Life series is dedicated to the Titanoboa – the largest known snake in the history of the Earth. Around 60 to 58 million years ago, this massive reptile roamed the hot, humid forests of South America. Experts estimate its body length at up to 13 meters and its weight at over a ton. On the design, the prehistoric creature winds its way through an arid landscape, while a crocodile emerges in the background. The inscription "PREHISTORIC LIFE TITANOBOA 60-58 MIO YEARS BC 2023" runs around the scene. The reverse bears the national emblem of the Democratic Republic of the Congo along with the central details of face value, weight, and fineness.
The Art of Minting in "Proof" – Every Detail Counts
Despite its tiny diameter of just 11 millimeters, the minting achieves a remarkably three-dimensional image on the surface. This is made possible by the Proof (PP) finish: mirror-polished fields meet matte, raised design elements – the highest quality level a coin can achieve. To keep the delicate surface intact, the piece is delivered in a protective coin capsule. Please never touch the coin directly on the design surface, so it retains its brilliance for decades to come.
A Genuine Rarity with Substance
The combination of a striking design and a very low mintage of just 2,000 pieces makes this piece an outstanding rarity. Small mintage figures have historically been met with strong demand – giving rise to the appealing appreciation potential of this edition. Ultimately, however, substance is what counts: the value of this coin is based primarily on the fine gold it contains and moves in line with the gold price. As fascinating as the design may be – the real reason to buy is the 0.5 g of pure gold with a fineness of 999.9. With this, you acquire full-fledged investment gold in a small, manageable size.
Small Format, Big Investment Idea
Small gold coins are an ideal entry point into physical gold investment and are excellent for building wealth in manageable steps. Gold is the oldest currency in the world, a proven store of value for over 6,000 years, tradable worldwide, and can be sold at any time. Anyone who regularly acquires small amounts will, over the years, accumulate a considerable holding of genuine fine gold. Another advantage: profits from the sale of physical gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.
Anyone wishing to purchase such an edition combines the personal touch of an extraordinary design with the enduring value of precious metal. For a special occasion such as a birthday, wedding, or christening, this makes it possible to give not just a pretty trinket, but genuine investment gold – an asset that lasts.
Despite its special design, what you are acquiring here is full-fledged investment gold – minted fine gold whose value is based on the gold price.
