Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim
Gold from the Golden City.
It began with the dust of the workshops.
Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.
The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.
1845
This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.
Inside the works
From scrap to bar.

The scrap
Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

The pour
Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

The bar
At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.
A house that carries on.

1945
In ruins
On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.
1977
The Brötzinger Tal
The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.
2010
Bars for investors
Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.
2014
Good Delivery
On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

Bar in a card
Gold you can give as a gift.
A small bar of fine gold, firmly set into a card the size of a credit card.
A gift that is not used up: for a birth, a wedding or simply as a thank-you.
On the bar
What the marks say.
- 999.9
- The fineness in parts per thousand: out of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure gold.
- 1845
- The caster. Since 1933 he has been the emblem of the house. In the round stamp, he stands above the year 1845.
- melter assayer
- The one who melts the metal and the one who tests it. Next to these words stands the mark of the house.
- HEIMERLE + MEULE
- The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.
From dust came a name.
Made to last.
The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.
Manufacturer: Heimerle + Meule GmbH, gold and silver refinery, Dennigstraße 16, Pforzheim.

One gram of fine gold from Germany's oldest refinery
The manufacturer is Heimerle + Meule from Pforzheim, founded in 1845 and thus Germany's oldest active precious metals refinery. Since 2014, this traditional house has been accredited as an LBMA Good Delivery Refiner – an internationally recognized quality seal that ensures the worldwide tradability of this bar. A quality management system certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 also stands behind the product.
The minted 1 gram gold bar bears on the front the inscription "HEIMERLE + MEULE" and "FINE GOLD 999.9", the weight specification "1g", the well-known smelter figure in a circle with the year 1845, as well as an individual serial number and the "melter assayer" hallmark. This allows every bar to be clearly identified. A certificate of authenticity with the most important data is included.
The FineCard "Zur Konfirmation"
The Brilliant Uncirculated bar is securely embedded in a blister card in a convenient credit-card format. The card design shows an open Bible, a golden chalice, fresh grapes and bread – symbols that fittingly capture the festive occasion. This way, you present not a mere gift for confirmation, but full-value investment gold in an appealing form. The sturdy card protects the fine gold and can be conveniently stored.
Why physical gold convinces as an inflation hedge
Gold is the oldest currency in the world and has been a proven store of value for over 6,000 years. It has never had a value of zero, possesses intrinsic value, and is recognized around the globe as a means of payment and exchange. As an inflation hedge, it preserves purchasing power, while unbacked fiat money loses value through continuous money printing. It is not without reason that the world's central banks hold enormous gold reserves – a clear sign of how much trust is placed in this precious metal. Furthermore, profits from the sale of gold are generally tax-free, provided the holding period is at least one year.
Small denomination, great flexibility
Compared to larger bars, the 1-gram unit scores with its fine denomination: it is affordable, easy to resell, and excellently suited for gradually building up a gold holding. Where a 100-gram bar can only be sold "as a whole", many small bars keep you maximally flexible. The disadvantage of small units – the somewhat higher percentage premium per gram – is more than offset by exactly this divisibility and the attractive FineCard packaging.
Who this gold bar is suited for
The small, minted bar is the ideal entry point into physical gold investment: high liquidity, resalability at any time, and wealth building in manageable steps. Small amounts of gold add up over the years to a considerable fortune and can be passed down through generations. Whether for your own holdings as a building block for diversification or as a genuine investment for a confirmation – here you acquire minted fine gold from Heimerle und Meule, which permanently retains its shine and its value.
Despite the personal occasion, what you receive here is not a souvenir, but recognized investment gold – minted fine gold 999.9, whose value is based on the gold price.
