Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim
Gold from the Golden City.
It began with the dust of the workshops.
Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.
The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.
1845
This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.
Inside the works
From scrap to bar.

The scrap
Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

The pour
Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

The bar
At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.
A house that carries on.

1945
In ruins
On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.
1977
The Brötzinger Tal
The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.
2010
Bars for investors
Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.
2014
Good Delivery
On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

Bar in a card
Gold you can give as a gift.
A small bar of fine gold, firmly set into a card the size of a credit card.
A gift that is not used up: for a birth, a wedding or simply as a thank-you.
On the bar
What the marks say.
- 999.9
- The fineness in parts per thousand: out of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure gold.
- 1845
- The caster. Since 1933 he has been the emblem of the house. In the round stamp, he stands above the year 1845.
- melter assayer
- The one who melts the metal and the one who tests it. Next to these words stands the mark of the house.
- HEIMERLE + MEULE
- The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.
From dust came a name.
Made to last.
The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.
Manufacturer: Heimerle + Meule GmbH, gold and silver refinery, Dennigstraße 16, Pforzheim.

- Protection: Especially in periods of inflation, recession and high government debt, you secure your savings with physical precious metal.
- Crisis protection: Small bars in particular are excellently suited as a means of payment and exchange in crises – a building block for your crisis protection.
One gram of fine gold – substance is what counts
The bar weighs exactly 1 gram and consists of 999.9 fine gold. It is minted, Brilliant Uncirculated, and bears on its front everything that makes up a reputable bar: the name and logo of Heimerle + Meule, the inscription "FINE GOLD 999.9", the founding year 1845, the weight specification "1g" as well as an individual serial number. As small as the format may be, the core substance is significant – here you are not acquiring a mere pendant or souvenir, but recognized, internationally tradable gold.
The FineCard comes in a practical credit card format of 85.6 x 54 x 1 mm, making it easy to fit in your wallet. In the foreground, the word "Notgroschen" (nest egg) is displayed in blue cursive script, behind which a hand drops a coin into a cheerful piggy bank, flanked by stacked coins. The design tells the story of building reserves – but the actual reserve you hold in your hands is in the form of genuine fine gold.
Heimerle + Meule – tradition from the gold city of Pforzheim
Behind this bar stands a name of weight. Heimerle + Meule was founded in 1845 in Pforzheim and is among the oldest German gold and silver refineries. The company is recognized by the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) as a "Good Delivery" refinery – an international quality standard that guarantees authenticity and purity, ensuring that the minted gold bar remains easily tradable worldwide. An enclosed certificate of authenticity rounds off the package.
Why gold – and why in small steps
Gold is humanity's oldest currency and has outlasted every paper currency for over 6,000 years. It possesses an inherent, physical value, has never had a value of zero, and protects against loss of purchasing power. While central banks can multiply fiat money almost without limit, the supply of gold is naturally scarce – and this is precisely where its strength as an inflation hedge lies. It's not without reason that the world's central banks hoard enormous gold reserves.
The 1-gram bar is the ideal entry point: you can save fine gold step by step, and many small amounts add up to a considerable fortune over the years. Thanks to its high liquidity, gold can be converted back into cash at any time. Another advantage: investment gold is exempt from VAT in Germany, and profits from its sale are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.
Despite the personal "nest egg" design, what you are acquiring here is fully-fledged investment gold – minted fine gold whose value is based on the gold price.
Whether as a cornerstone for building your own wealth or as a gift for a birth, christening, or birthday that isn't just another fleeting trinket but a genuine gold investment: with the 1g Gold Bar Notgroschen from Heimerle und Meule, you choose permanence. Gold has shone for millennia – and will not lose its shine in the future either. This way, you secure values that can be passed on across generations.
