Molten gold flows from the crucible into an ingot mould

Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim

Gold from the Golden City.

It began with the dust of the workshops.

Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.

The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.

1845

This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.

Inside the works

From scrap to bar.

  1. Old silver, coins and pieces of jewellery slide from a shovel into a glowing crucible

    The scrap

Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

  2. A melter pours molten metal from the crucible, sparks flying

    The pour

Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

  3. Gold and silver bars by Heimerle + Meule on slate

    The bar

At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.

A house that carries on.

  1. 1945

    In ruins

On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.

  2. 1977

    The Brötzinger Tal

The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.

  3. 2010

    Bars for investors

Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.

  4. 2014

    Good Delivery

On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

1g Gold Bar Heimerle und Meule I Love You FineCard

Bar in a card

Gold you can give as a gift.

A small bar of fine gold, firmly set into a card the size of a credit card.

A gift that is not used up: for a birth, a wedding or simply as a thank-you.

On the bar

What the marks say.

999.9
The fineness in parts per thousand: out of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure gold.
1845
The caster. Since 1933 he has been the emblem of the house. In the round stamp, he stands above the year 1845.
melter assayer
The one who melts the metal and the one who tests it. Next to these words stands the mark of the house.
HEIMERLE + MEULE
The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.

From dust came a name.

Made to last.

The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.

Manufacturer: Heimerle + Meule GmbH, gold and silver refinery, Dennigstraße 16, Pforzheim.

1g Gold Bar Heimerle + Meule "I Love You" FineCard – genuine investment gold with a personal touch

  • Investment objective: With gold bars you protect your wealth exceptionally effectively against creeping currency devaluation.
  • Preservation of value: As a reliable store of value, this bar secures the real value of your capital – and lets it grow over the years.
  • Hedging: Especially in phases of inflation, recession and rampant government debt, you reliably support your wealth with gold.
  • Crisis protection: Small bars are excellently suited as a divisible means of payment and exchange in an emergency, when it really matters.

One gram of pure fine gold, embedded in an elegant card in credit-card format: The 1g gold bar from Heimerle + Meule in the FineCard "I Love You" combines a warm message with tangible substance. What matters here is not the design, but the metal. The value of this bar is based primarily on the fine gold it contains and develops in line with the gold price. Whoever acquires it is not simply buying a gift, but full-fledged, physical investment gold – and a proven inflation hedge that can be built up in small steps.

The FineCard "I Love You" – investment gold that carries a message

The front of the black card shows the gold-shimmering lettering "I love You", framed by "Ich liebe dich", "Te amo", "Je t'aime", "Ti amo", "Jeg elsker dig", "Seni seviyorum" and many other declarations of love in different languages and handwriting styles, along with numerous small hearts in white and gold. In the upper right sits the minted bar, securely sealed into the card. This personal touch makes the product a lovely way to give genuine investment gold for Valentine's Day, an anniversary, or simply as a token of love. The real reason to buy, however, remains the fine gold itself.

Heimerle + Meule: precision from Pforzheim since 1845

The bar is produced by Heimerle + Meule, Germany's oldest active precious metals refinery, founded in 1845 in the "City of Gold" Pforzheim. The 1-gram bar is minted and bears the manufacturer's name "HEIMERLE + MEULE", the specifications "FINE GOLD 999.9", the characteristic logo with the gold caster and the founding year 1845, as well as the assay stamp "melter assayer". As an LBMA member, the company produces its gold according to the strict London Good Delivery standard – a quality seal that guarantees worldwide recognition and easy tradability. A certificate of authenticity stating the fineness (999.9), the LBMA seal and quality management certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 is included and confirms purity and origin.

Why gold – and why small units?

Gold is the oldest currency in the world and has been a stable, proven store of value for over 6,000 years. It has never had a value of zero because it possesses intrinsic value, and it protects its owner from loss of purchasing power. While central banks can print fiat money almost without limit, the supply of gold is inherently scarce – a key reason for its long-term value stability. It is no coincidence that central banks themselves are among the largest holders of gold in the world. A 1-gram bar is the ideal entry point: highly liquid, resellable at any time, and can be combined in many small steps into a considerable fortune.

Gold has outlived every paper currency and has never known a value of zero – that is why physical gold remains the anchor in uncertain times.
