Molten gold flows from the crucible into an ingot mould

Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim

Gold from the Golden City.

It began with the dust of the workshops.

Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.

The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.

1845

This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.

Inside the works

From scrap to bar.

  1. Old silver, coins and pieces of jewellery slide from a shovel into a glowing crucible

    The scrap

Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

  2. A melter pours molten metal from the crucible, sparks flying

    The pour

Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

  3. Gold and silver bars by Heimerle + Meule on slate

    The bar

At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.

A house that carries on.

  1. 1945

    In ruins

On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.

  2. 1977

    The Brötzinger Tal

The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.

  3. 2010

    Bars for investors

Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.

  4. 2014

    Good Delivery

On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

1g Gold Bar Heimerle und Meule Happy New Year FineCard

Bar in a card

Gold you can give as a gift.

A small bar of fine gold, firmly set into a card the size of a credit card.

A gift that is not used up: for a birth, a wedding or simply as a thank-you.

On the bar

What the marks say.

999.9
The fineness in parts per thousand: out of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure gold.
1845
The caster. Since 1933 he has been the emblem of the house. In the round stamp, he stands above the year 1845.
melter assayer
The one who melts the metal and the one who tests it. Next to these words stands the mark of the house.
HEIMERLE + MEULE
The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.

From dust came a name.

Made to last.

The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.

Manufacturer: Heimerle + Meule GmbH, gold and silver refinery, Dennigstraße 16, Pforzheim.

The card shimmers golden, a sparkling firework display runs across the design, along with the flowing lettering "Happy new year". In the lower right sits the minted bar with the clearly recognizable stamping "FINE GOLD 999.9" and "1g". The festive design is the personal touch – but the actual substance and the reason for buying is 1 gram of pure gold.

The gram gold bar format is manufactured by Heimerle + Meule, Germany's tradition-steeped refinery from Pforzheim. The company has been minting precious metal "Made in Germany" since 1845. The bar itself bears the distinctive manufacturer logo, the year 1845, as well as the "melter" and "assayer" hallmarks. As an LBMA-recognized Good Delivery refiner and a company certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001, Heimerle + Meule guarantees the highest purity and flawless craftsmanship. Whoever acquires this 1g gold bar holds a piece of German minting artistry of the finest quality in their hands.

Why the small bar is worthwhile as a gold investment

Gold is the oldest currency in the world and has been a proven store of value for over 6,000 years. Its value has never been zero, because gold possesses an inherent, intrinsic value that no central bank can increase. While fiat money can be printed and expanded at will, the supply of gold is naturally scarce – a key reason for its long-term value stability. It is no coincidence that central banks themselves are among the largest gold holders in the world.

This is precisely where the strength of this product lies: As an inflation hedge, physical gold preserves purchasing power when paper currencies lose value. The value of this bar is directly linked to the gold price and the fine gold it contains. Despite the festive occasion, you are therefore acquiring fully-fledged investment gold here – minted fine gold whose value develops with the market. When you give real gold as a gift for the turn of the year, you're not giving a mere greeting, but a genuine asset.

  • Recognized worldwide, tradable at any time and easily resold.
  • High liquidity – can be quickly converted into cash if needed.
  • Physically tangible, durable and eternal in its shine.
  • Low correlation with other assets, making it well suited for diversification.

The low entry price makes this 1-gram format particularly attractive: you start with a small sum and build up your gold holdings step by step. Small amounts of gold add up over the years to a considerable stock – ideal for continuous wealth accumulation, as long-term retirement provision, or to pass on value across generations. A nice side effect for investors: profits from the sale of physical gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.

Whether for New Year's Eve, as a start to the new year, or simply as a solid building block of your reserves – this 1g gold bar combines a festive occasion with tangible preservation of value. Substance is what counts, and this substance is pure fine gold.
