Some coins simply exist to give precious metal a shape. And then there are pieces like this: a heavyweight that captivates collectors at first glance. The Silver Wedge Tailed Eagle of the 2026 vintage combines heft, brilliance and craftsmanship into a collector's coin that becomes the undisputed highlight of any display case. With a full five ounces of pure silver, it sits weighty and substantial in the hand.

A design that dominates the sky

At the center are two proud heads of the Australian Wedge-Tailed Eagle – that mighty bird of prey considered the largest eagle on the fifth continent. The sharply contoured beaks, the finely chiseled plumage, the piercing gaze: every detail has been crafted with devotion. Thanks to the partially gilded design, the gold-gleaming eagle heads stand out brilliantly against the matte silver background. This contrast – gold on silver – gives the piece an almost painting-like depth.

The combination of High Relief, reverse-proof finish and partial gilding makes this edition a small masterpiece of modern coin art.

The High Relief – the especially raised minting – makes the eagles appear to literally grow out of the coin's surface. In the reverse-proof process, the design surfaces shine matte while the background is mirror-polished. A look that must be seen and felt to be appreciated.

Why this edition is so sought after

What matters most to collectors is the number hovering above everything: only 500 pieces of this edition exist worldwide. Such a strict limitation for a 5-ounce format with partial gilding and High Relief is a true rarity. The smaller the mintage, the greater the desirability tends to be – and this is precisely where this coin's considerable value appreciation potential lies.

  • Fine weight: 155.52 g silver at 999.9 fineness
  • Diameter: an impressive 50.90 mm
  • Face value: 8 AUD (Australia)
  • Condition: Reverse Proof – brand new
  • Delivery: in an elegant case including certificate of authenticity

Silver that outlasts generations

Silver has accompanied humanity for millennia as a coinage metal, as a symbol of wealth and prestige. It is durable, retains its properties over time, and is treasured by collectors worldwide. Whoever acquires this piece secures not only a visual highlight but a collector's item with tangible intrinsic value. A pleasant side note: profits from the sale of silver are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year.

This edition joins the esteemed Wedge-Tailed Eagle series of Australian minting artistry – and takes it a step further through its refined finish. Feel free to browse our silver coins selection or discover more popular collector's coins with very low mintages.

With only 500 pieces worldwide, the rule applies: those who hesitate may soon be left empty-handed. Secure this rare beauty while stocks last.
