Freshly cast silver bars lie packed closely together

Heimerle + Meule · Pforzheim

Silver with a face value.

It began with the dust of the workshops.

Jewellery has been made in Pforzheim since the 18th century. Wherever there is filing, sawing and polishing, precious metal falls to the floor as fine dust and ends up in the sweepings.

The entrepreneur Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, to recover precious metal from production waste.

1845

This is the year the story of Heimerle + Meule begins. To this day, the date appears in the mark of the house.

Inside the works

From scrap to bar.

  1. Old silver, coins and pieces of jewellery slide from a shovel into a glowing crucible

    The scrap

Jewellery, coins, cutlery, dental gold and industrial residues: from these, the house recovers precious metal today.

  2. A melter pours molten metal from the crucible, sparks flying

    The pour

Gold melts at 1,064 degrees Celsius, silver at 962 degrees. The melter pours the molten metal from the crucible into the mould.

  3. Gold and silver bars by Heimerle + Meule on slate

    The bar

At the end comes the finished bar, bearing its weight and fineness. According to the company, the fine metals used are produced in its own refinery.

A house that carries on.

  1. 1945

    In ruins

On 23 February an air raid destroys Pforzheim’s town centre. The company’s building is also lost in the war. Afterwards, it makes a fresh start in the premises of a jewellery and watch factory.

  2. 1977

    The Brötzinger Tal

The company moves out of the town centre to the Brötzinger Tal, a valley that had been filled in after the war, partly with the rubble of the old town. Its headquarters have been there ever since.

  3. 2010

    Bars for investors

Heimerle + Meule launches its investment products division. Today, bars, boxes and cards for investors are part of its range.

  4. 2014

    Good Delivery

On 3 June the London Bullion Market Association admits the company to its Good Delivery List, the register of recognised gold refiners. It has remained on the list since that day.

MALTA CoinBars

The Maltese cross.

The small bar bears the Maltese cross, its fineness and weight, the lettering Malta, the year 2026 and a face value in euros: 3 euros on the one-gram gold bar, 1.50 euros on the half-gram gold bar, 15 euro cents on the one-gram silver bar.

According to Heimerle + Meule, the coin bars are issued under licence from the Central Bank of Malta.

On the bar

999.9
The fineness in parts per thousand: out of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure silver.
1845
The caster. Since 1933 he has been the emblem of the house. In the round stamp, he stands above the year 1845.
MADE IN GERMANY
The house has its headquarters and works in Pforzheim, Germany.
HEIMERLE + MEULE
The company has borne this name since the second half of the 19th century.

From dust came a name.

Made to last.

The idea of the sweepings works lives on, too: recovering and refining precious metal has been the heart of the house since its founding.

  • Wealth preservation: As an ideal store of wealth, silver CombiBars conserve the true value of your assets while simultaneously offering opportunities for appreciation.
  • Hedging: When inflation runs rampant, recessions loom, and governments groan under mountains of debt, physical precious metals are your most reliable anchor.

The 100 x 1g Silver Heimerle und Meule Minted Bar Unity Box combines everything that discerning investors and passionate collectors desire: the highest purity, German precision manufacturing, and a well-conceived denomination that guarantees maximum flexibility. Each of the 100 minted bars consists of 999.9/1,000 fine silver – it can hardly get any purer. Manufactured by the traditional German precious metals processor Heimerle und Meule, which as part of HM Precious Metals can draw on impressive expertise, and minted in collaboration with the Royal Dutch Mint (since 1567!), you receive a product of exceptional quality.

What makes this Unity Box so special?

At first glance, the individual pieces look like classic bars – elegant, understated, with the distinctive Maltese Cross as the central design. But appearances are deceiving in the best possible way: through the stamped face value of 15 Eurocents and issuance via Malta, these bars attain the official status of a coin. They are therefore legal tender. This special feature makes the minted bar a fascinating hybrid – half bar, half coin, entirely an inflation hedge.

The inscription "FINE SILVER 999.9" and "1g" on each individual piece, along with the note "MADE IN GERMANY", underscores the uncompromising quality. Packaged in a robust, transparent master box – the so-called CoinBar Box – all 100 minted bars are stored safely and clearly. Four pieces each rest in small blisters, which in turn stack inside the sturdy box.

The advantages of the 1-gram denomination

Why 1 gram specifically? Quite simply: small units are worth their weight in gold – or rather, worth their weight in silver. In times of currency instability, silver can serve as a medium of exchange. And who would want to break open a 1-kilo bar to settle a small transaction? With the 1-gram denomination, you remain flexible. You can gift individual minted bars, exchange them, or selectively sell them without having to touch your entire holdings.

"Silver is the money of the common man, gold the money of kings – but whoever possesses both is prepared for any crisis."

Crisis protection and inflation hedge in one product

The world is changing rapidly. National debt at record levels, geopolitical tensions, a monetary policy that is increasingly shaking confidence in paper currencies – all of these are reasons why more and more people are turning to physical precious metals. This Unity Box is an excellent crisis protection. Because unlike fiat money, silver possesses an intrinsic value derived from its physical properties and its enormous industrial demand.

Whether electronics, solar technology, or medicine – industry consumes vast quantities of silver every year. At the same time, supply is limited. This combination of rising demand and limited availability could lead to significant appreciation in value over the long term. Those who invest in silver today may be positioning themselves exactly right.

Don't forget the tax advantages

Another plus point that many investors appreciate: Profits from the sale of silver are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year. This makes this Unity Box not only an instrument of wealth preservation, but also a tax-attractive investment product.

Comparison: Minted bars vs. CombiBars

While CombiBars also offer an excellent denomination and can be easily portioned thanks to their pre-scored break lines, minted bars score points with their official legal tender status. This gives them an additional legal dimension that pure bars do not possess. Both formats are excellent for crisis preparedness – but the minted bar combines the aesthetics of a bar with the legitimacy of a coin. A combination that is second to none.

Who is the Unity Box ideal for?

Whether you are just beginning to diversify your portfolio with physical silver, or whether you are already an experienced precious metals investor – this box is a perfect fit. It is suitable as a long-term retirement provision, as wealth that can be passed from generation to generation, and as a tangible hedge against the uncertainties of our time. Silver is durable, retains its physical properties over centuries, and enjoys the highest liquidity worldwide.
