Golden Eagle 2026, 1/200 ounce of fine gold, reverse

On the reverse the golden eagle perches on a gnarled branch with oak leaves, and on the obverse it lands with its wings raised high. Its time of the year is late winter, when the breeding season begins.

Late winter · The golden eagle

In early February its breeding season begins.

In Germany the golden eagle lives only in the Bavarian Alps. There its breeding season begins in early February, and eggs are laid from late February.

It usually builds its eyrie on smaller cliff faces, sometimes in trees as well, and each pair can have several alternate nests. It advertises its territory with undulating display flights.

It hunts mainly at the tree line and above.

In the monitoring by Berchtesgaden National Park, covering more than 1,500 km² between the Inn and the Salzach, no change of partner was documented in the 15 occupied territories in 2024.

1/200 oz Gold Golden Eagle 2026 – Minted Fine Gold in Miniature Format

Barely larger than a fingertip, yet genuine precious metal with substance: This Proof edition combines an impressive eagle relief with the enduring value of physical fine gold. The value of this coin is based primarily on the gold it contains and moves in line with the gold price.

  • Investment character: physical fine gold whose value tracks the gold price – building wealth in small, manageable steps.
  • Minting quality: the highest possible quality level, Proof (PP), with mirror-like fields and precisely frosted relief.
  • Strictly limited: worldwide mintage capped at just 5,000 pieces.
  • Growth potential: the strict limitation combined with high demand gives this edition additional appreciation potential.
  • Rarity: sought-after miniature edition of the "Birds" series in top-tier condition.
  • Design: a majestic golden eagle perched on a gnarled oak branch – a symbol of strength, freedom and grandeur.
  • Material / Fineness: 999.9/1,000, minted from fine gold of the highest purity.
  • Manufacturer: Kettner Edelmetalle.
  • Country of origin: issued for Liberia, face value 25 dollars, minted in Germany.

The golden eagle has long been regarded as king of the skies. As part of the "Birds" series, this small gold coin joins the sought-after gold coins in miniature format that have become highly popular in recent years. What truly matters, however, is the substance: you are acquiring physical gold with a fineness of 999.9/1,000. The design is the personal touch, while the fine gold is the actual reason to buy.

Gold has been regarded as a proven store of value for over 6,000 years. It has never had a value of zero, carries intrinsic worth, and remains tradeable and resalable worldwide at any time. This is precisely what makes the 1/200 oz an attractive entry point into physical gold investment: anyone who regularly acquires small amounts accumulates them over the years into a considerable asset. As a proven inflation hedge and reliable crisis protection, gold preserves your purchasing power when confidence in fiat money fades – not without reason do central banks count among the world's largest gold holders.

Although this edition is strictly limited and considered a sought-after collector's coin within the "Birds" series, the focus of this small gold product remains on its investment appeal. With a worldwide mintage limited to 5,000 pieces, this gold coin becomes a genuine rarity: the scarcer such an offering, the greater the long-term impact the limitation may have on its desirability.

The Design: Golden Eagle on an Oak Branch

The precisely executed minting shows a golden eagle in profile, perched on a gnarled oak branch with folded wings and an alert gaze. Fine laser detailing shapes the plumage, the powerful talons and the surrounding oak leaves down to the smallest feather shaft – remarkable for a format of just 14 millimeters. Along the upper rim runs the inscription "1/200 OZ 9999 FINE GOLD", while the lower rim bears the year of issue 2026. The warm gold shine and the sculptural relief impression are especially striking in the Proof condition.
