Bitcoin 2026, 1/200 ounce of gold, obverse

Bitcoin’s creator himself took gold as the comparison: in 2008 in the white paper, in 2010 on a forum. Here the Bitcoin sign stands on 1/200 ounce of fine gold, in a mintage of 5,000 pieces.

On the obverse

Four words around the sign

In the centre stands the Bitcoin sign. The arc around it reads DECENTRALIZED • BITCOIN • DIGITAL • PEER TO PEER, below it stand the weight, the metal and BTC, the abbreviation of the unit in the Bitcoin software.

Bitcoin’s early texts use the same words. Satoshi Nakamoto called the system decentralised, with no server and no central authority, when he released the first software in January 2009.

Bitcoin’s white paper of 2008 describes an electronic coin as a chain of digital signatures. Peer-to-peer, from participant to participant, is already in its title.

The comparison with gold miners

The Bitcoin white paper, announced on 31 October 2008, compares the steady addition of new coins with gold miners:

“… analogous to gold miners expending resources to add gold to circulation. In our case, it is CPU time and electricity that is expended.”

Bitcoin white paper, section 6, “Incentive”

The same section explains why new coins come about this way: there is no central authority that issues them. The World Gold Council calls gold “no one’s liability”: it is not a promise that someone else has to keep.

3 January 2009

A newspaper line in the first block

Bitcoin writes its entries into blocks that form a chain. The first block holds a line from a newspaper:

“The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks”

A forum post, 2010

As scarce as gold

On 27 August 2010, Satoshi Nakamoto posted a thought experiment on a forum, with gold as the measure of scarcity:

“As a thought experiment, imagine there was a base metal as scarce as gold …”

Satoshi Nakamoto, bitcointalk.org forum, 27 August 2010

By “scarce” he only means a limited potential supply, as he explains in the post.

He had named the supply of Bitcoin in 2009: 21 million coins in total. The smallest unit is called a satoshi, one hundred-millionth of a bitcoin.

The World Gold Council describes gold itself as scarce. The mintage of this piece is fixed: 5,000 pieces.

A medal in copper

Bullion, not bits

One medal in our range bears BULLION NOT BITS above a pair of scales. Bullion means gold or silver in bars, a bit is the smallest unit of information in a computer: bars, not bits.

Or, as we put it:

Gold is the real crypto.

Crypto comes from the Greek kryptós, meaning hidden.

Modelled on gold

In both quoted passages, gold is the comparison: for the effort of the gold miners and for the measure of scarcity. This piece brings the sign into metal that you hold in your hand.

With the 1/200 oz Gold Bitcoin 2026, you acquire an exceptionally small piece of physical gold that connects humanity's oldest store of value with the idea of digital currency. Within the gold coins category, this coin occupies an exciting special role: it shows that trust in genuine fine gold and fascination with Bitcoin are not mutually exclusive, but come together in a single small gold coin. The actual reason for purchase remains the substance – minted fine gold, whose value is oriented to the gold price. The modern design is the personal touch on top.

Design – Digital Aesthetics in Fine Gold

The design thrives on contrast: at the center shines the world-famous Bitcoin symbol, the large "B", framed by precisely engraved circuit boards and electronic circuits that run across the entire coin image. The inscription picks up the core terms of cryptocurrency – BITCOIN, DIGITAL, PEER TO PEER and DECENTRALIZED. At the lower edge, the fine weight is engraved as "1/200 OZ FINE GOLD". The value side bears the national coat of arms of the Republic of Liberia along with its motto, the face value of 25 Dollars, and the year of issue 2026. The reeded edge rounds off the high-quality overall impression and ensures a secure grip.

Full-Value Investment Gold in a Small Denomination

Despite the modern, tech-savvy design, what you are acquiring here is full-value investment gold. Its value is based primarily on the fine gold it contains and develops with the gold price – not on emotion or design. It is precisely the small denomination that makes this gold coin an ideal entry point into physical gold investment: it allows wealth-building in manageable steps, and over the years many small quantities of gold add up to a considerable holding. As a real precious metal, your fine gold is tradable worldwide, resalable at any time, and liquid. Profits from the sale of physical gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year. Gold has been considered a proven store of value for over 6,000 years, has never had a value of zero, and carries an intrinsic, globally recognized value – properties that make it an attractive building block for inflation hedging and solid crisis protection.

Rarity with Perspective

The mintage, limited worldwide to 5,000 pieces, makes this issue a sought-after rarity. A scarce supply combined with high demand for the Bitcoin theme has historically proven to be fertile ground for long-term appreciation potential – without this constituting a promise of any specific value development. Anyone who deliberately invests in small gold units secures here a physical tangible asset with a distinctive character.

For a birthday, Christmas, or as an entry into your own gold investment, give more than a fleeting gesture – give real investment gold: a lasting asset made of fine gold that retains its shine across generations.

Gold is the oldest currency in the world and has outlived every paper currency. With the 1/200 oz Gold Bitcoin 2026, you hold a piece of this history in modern form in your hands: real fine gold, strictly limited, minted in flawless Proof quality.
