Claude Monet „Woman with a Parasol" – Impressionism in Pure Fine Gold

Great art, smallest format, genuine tangible value: this 2025 minting transfers one of the most famous works of Impressionism onto pure gold. The world-famous painting „Woman with a Parasol" by Claude Monet appears here in full colour on 999/1,000 fine gold – issued by the Republic of Chad with a face value of 3,000 CFA francs. However, the real reason to buy is not the design, but the fine gold it contains: its value tracks the gold price, making this minting a fully-fledged investment gold piece in miniature format.

  • Design: Monet's impressionist masterpiece featuring the striding lady beneath the green parasol – rendered in vivid colour on the reverse, complete with a framed sepia-toned secondary motif and the artist's signature.
  • Material & fineness: 999/1,000 fine gold of the highest purity, minted from 1/1000 oz (approximately 0.031 g) of pure gold.
  • Manufacturer: produced by the renowned Swiss traditional mint Valcambi – a name synonymous with precision and quality worldwide.
  • Format: rectangular coin with rounded corners, dimensions 11 × 15.4 mm, delivered in a high-quality coincard (blister card).
  • Mintage: strictly limited worldwide to 50,000 pieces, Brilliant Uncirculated new stock.

The Design: Monet's Woman with a Parasol

The original was created in 1875 and depicts Monet's wife Camille with their son on a summer meadow. The viewpoint looks up at the lady in her light, flowing dress, as the wind catches the green parasol and her veil. The characteristic impressionist brushstrokes, the blue-and-white sky with dynamic clouds, and the green-yellow colours of the blooming meadow have been captured in rich detail on this small surface. Along the right edge, the inscription „Claude Monet" adorns the coin; in the lower area, a framed, golden-brown secondary motif of the same subject references the artist's own hand. In this way, painting and numismatics combine to create a minting with a truly distinctive, personal touch.

Obverse: The Coat of Arms of the Republic of Chad

The obverse bears the national coat of arms of Chad, flanked by a wild goat and a lion. Around the rim and below are the inscriptions „REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD" as the issuing country, „3000 FRANCS CFA" as the face value, and „999/1000 FINE GOLD" as proof of the high fineness. This makes the minting an officially issued legal tender of the country.

Investment Gold in Small Format – Preserving Value Gram by Gram

Even though the design is captivating, what you are essentially acquiring here is a physical, return-oriented gold investment. Its value is based on the fine gold it contains and moves in line with the gold price. For those seeking to build wealth in small steps, such 1/1000 oz mintings offer a low-threshold entry into physical gold investment – tradable at any time and resellable worldwide.

Gold is humanity's oldest currency – it has outlived every paper currency and preserved its intrinsic value over millennia.

Physical gold has been regarded as a proven store of value for over 6,000 years. It has never been worth zero, protects against loss of purchasing power, and serves both as an inflation hedge and as a reliable crisis protection against political and economic turbulence. It is no coincidence that central banks are among the largest holders of gold in the world. As a scarce commodity with limited supply, gold offers high liquidity and can quickly be converted back into cash. Furthermore, profits from its sale are generally tax-free, provided a minimum holding period of one year is observed.

Who This Minting Is Suited For

This issue appeals to investors who want to diversify their wealth with small, physical gold holdings – and to anyone who wishes to pass on a genuine gold investment. After all, small amounts of gold accumulate over the years into a substantial fortune and can be passed down from generation to generation.

  • An entry point into physical gold investment with a low capital outlay.
  • Give the gift of genuine investment gold – for a christening, birthday, or wedding, for example: what you give is a real asset, not merely a souvenir.
  • Strictly limited, Brilliant Uncirculated new stock from the house of Valcambi.
