The designs
The pandas from 2020 to 2026
The Panda has been made in gold since 1982 and in silver since 1983, and since 2016 in grams instead of ounces. The designs of 2019, 2021, 2024 and 2025 show a panda mother with her young. Here are the issues we carry.

The panda
At home in the bamboo, high in the mountains.
Giant pandas live in a few mountain ranges in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu, in damp, misty mountain forests with dense bamboo, at an altitude of around 1,500 to 3,000 metres.
Around 99 per cent of their food is bamboo, and a panda spends 10 to 16 hours a day finding and eating it. Its “sixth finger” helps with this: not a finger, but an enlarged bone in the wrist that grips like a thumb.
A panda cub is born pink, hairless and blind. It then weighs 85 to 142 grams and is about the size of a stick of butter. Adult pandas mostly live alone and communicate through scent marks and calls.
In gold, from 1 to 30 grams
As a bullion coin, the gold Panda comes in five sizes, with face values from 10 to 500 Yuan.

The Temple of Heaven
On the other side stands the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests.
There the coin shows the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, with the name of the country in the ring above it and the year below.
The hall is round and has three tiers, with a conical roof. Here the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties prayed for good harvests. The complex was completed in 1420 and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998.

What the coin bears
The side with the panda bears the weight, the fineness and the face value in Yuan. The issuer is the People’s Bank of China, the country’s central bank.
On this coin it is 10 Yuan.

Few investment designs are as unmistakable as the bear from the Middle Kingdom. The 1-gram edition of the Gold China Panda 2026 combines the finest precious metal with one of the world's most coveted designs – making the entry into physical gold investment remarkably straightforward. What matters here is not the design, but the substance: you are acquiring one gram of pure fine gold, whose value is determined by the gold price.
Panda and Temple of Heaven: the design of the series
One side of this gold coin shows two pandas amid bamboo – a mother animal with her offspring, finely worked out against a mirror-polished background. Along the upper edge are the inscriptions "1g Au .999", below which is the face value "10 元" (10 Yuan). The opposite side is adorned with the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, flanked by the Chinese country designation and the year 2026. It is precisely this yearly change of the panda motif – with the Temple of Heaven remaining constant – that makes the series so distinctive. The frosted relief against the polished field creates a vivid contrast and underscores the sharp, Brilliant Uncirculated finish.
Material, fineness and format
With a fineness of 999, a fine weight of 1 gram, a diameter of only 10.00 mm and a face value of 10 Yuan, this China Panda is among the most compact forms in which genuine investment gold can be acquired. Panda gold coins are among the few bullion issues worldwide minted in grams rather than ounces – ideal for building wealth in small, easily divisible units. The coins are supplied as new, Brilliant Uncirculated stock, cleanly sealed to protect the sensitive surface.
Small coin, great investment quality
Why is it worth choosing small gold coins? Because they bring the advantages of the precious metal into a particularly flexible format:
- Wealth preservation: gold is the world's oldest currency and has preserved its purchasing power for thousands of years – a value of zero has never been reached.
- Protective function: as a proven inflation hedge and reliable crisis protection against loss of purchasing power and currency risks.
- Liquidity: recognized worldwide, tradable and resellable at any time – the 1-gram denomination noticeably lowers the entry barrier.
- Wealth building: small amounts of gold add up over the years to a considerable holding, which can be passed on through generations.
It is not without reason that central banks around the globe hold gold as a reserve – a clear signal of confidence in the precious metal as opposed to unbacked paper money.
The 1 g Gold China Panda 2026 is also a compelling choice for personal occasions such as a birth, christening or a milestone birthday: you are not giving away a trifle, but genuine investment gold – minted fine gold whose value is measured against the gold market. The panda design adds a personal touch, but the actual reason for the purchase remains the fine gold it contains. In this way, you combine a wonderful occasion with a tangible asset that endures.
