140 Years of Coca-Cola: An Anniversary You Can Hold in Gold and Silver

Atlanta, May 1886: pharmacist John S. Pemberton mixes a syrup. His bookkeeper Frank M. Robinson gives it the name "Coca-Cola" and writes it in the flowing script now known around the world. 140 years later, the brand celebrates its anniversary, and you can capture this moment in precious metal. The Gold & Silver Anniversary Set 1886–2026 contains six officially licensed mintings: a limited 5 gram gold bar from PAMP shaped like a bottle, four small gold coins featuring the most iconic Coca-Cola designs, and one troy ounce of fine silver featuring the beloved polar bear.

Collectors get to enjoy a small journey through advertising history. Investors receive genuine, physical precious metal with a total fine weight of 36.22 g. And Coca-Cola fans get a gift that definitely won't end up forgotten in a drawer.

What's Included in the Anniversary Set

  • 1x 5 g Gold Bar PAMP "140 Years of Coca-Cola": shaped like the contour bottle, fine gold 999.9
  • 1x Gold Coca-Cola Truck Coin: 1/1,000 oz fine gold
  • 1x Gold Coca-Cola Santa Claus Coin: 1/1,000 oz fine gold
  • 1x Gold Coca-Cola Can Coin: 1/1,000 oz fine gold
  • 1x Gold Coca-Cola Polar Bear with Sunglasses Coin: 1/1,000 oz fine gold
  • 1x 1 oz Silver Coca-Cola Polar Bear: 31.1 g fine silver 999

The Highlight: Swiss Fine Gold Shaped Like the Famous Bottle

The most important piece in the set comes from Switzerland. PAMP (Produits Artistiques Métaux Précieux) is one of the most renowned precious metal manufacturers in the world. For the anniversary, PAMP has released a 5 gram gold bar shaped exactly like the Coca-Cola contour bottle. Strictly speaking, it is a minted bar: it carries a face value of 20 dollars from the issuing country Niue and the year 2026. The obverse displays the Coca-Cola lettering. The reverse states the weight, the fineness "999.9," and an individual serial number. According to PAMP, the bar measures 8 x 25.82 mm and is 1.54 mm thick. It is struck in proof-like quality, giving the design a mirror-like shine.

Only 10,000 pieces exist worldwide. Each bar is housed in a colorful CertiPAMP card. The front displays the well-known slogan "It's the real thing," while the back shows the certificate number, mintage, fineness, weight, and the assayer's signature. This allows you to verify authenticity at any time without removing the bar from its packaging.

Four Advertising Icons in Miniature Format

Small, but made of pure gold: the four mini coins come from the Republic of Chad and each carry a face value of 3,000 CFA francs. Each contains 1/1,000 oz of fine gold, roughly 0.03 g, with a fineness of 999/1000. Each edition is limited to 50,000 pieces and comes on its own coin card. Behind each design lies a chapter of brand history.

  • Santa Claus: In 1931, Coca-Cola commissioned illustrator Haddon Sundblom to create a friendly Santa Claus with rosy cheeks. This image still shapes how we picture Santa today.
  • The Christmas Truck: Since the "Holidays Are Coming" commercial of 1995, the illuminated red trucks have been driving through snowy landscapes. For millions of people, this marks the start of the holiday season.
  • The Can: It represents a brand that feels at home in nearly every country on earth.
  • The Polar Bear with Sunglasses: the cool version of the advertising bears that have been part of the Coca-Cola family since 1993.

One Troy Ounce of Silver for the Coca-Cola Polar Bear

The final piece is a silver medal from the USA with 31.1 g of fine silver (999/1000) and a diameter of 39 mm. A polar bear in profile lifts its head and drinks from the classic glass bottle. Snowflakes fall around it, with sparkling stars in between. The fur is rendered very naturally with fine lines. The satin finish and polished rim give the design great depth. The reverse features the world-famous Coca-Cola logo.

Why Precious Metal – and Why This Particular Set?

Gold is humanity's oldest currency. It has outlasted empires, paper money, and currency reforms, never losing its shine. Silver, too, has served as a means of payment and store of value for thousands of years. With physical precious metal, you own a tangible value that no central bank can simply create more of. That is why it is considered a proven building block for wealth preservation, protection against inflation, and provisioning in times of crisis.

Gold has outlived every currency that has ever competed with it. This set combines its timeless value with a brand that has itself existed for 140 years.

A plain 5 g standard bar or a classic bullion coin like the Krugerrand offers primarily metal. This anniversary set offers history and emotion on top of that. Limited licensed mintings are popular among collectors and make excellent gifts. Anyone who simply wants as many grams of gold as possible for their money is better off choosing a bar without a design. But anyone who wants to combine precious metal with the joy of collecting will find here a rare blend of fine gold, fine silver, and pop culture. It should also be noted that in Germany, profits from the sale of physical precious metal by private individuals are generally tax-free after a holding period of more than one year.
