British coins carried five portraits of Elizabeth II, from Mary Gillick to Jody Clark. Three coins for the Queen’s 100th birthday, from Perth.

The faces of the Crown

One face, seven decades

Mary Gillick showed Elizabeth II with a laurel wreath instead of a crown, and Jody Clark chose the diadem of her coronation in 2015: the first and the fifth of her portraits on British coins.

On the first decimal coins of 1968, Arnold Machin replaced the wreath with a diadem, a wedding present from Queen Mary. For the portrait from 1985 onwards, Raphael Maklouf first worked from photographs and was then granted two sittings. From 1998, Ian Rank-Broadley let the portrait fill the field, because the coins had become smaller.

Many commemorative pieces for the Queen come from small issuing countries in the Pacific, such as Niue, Tokelau and the Cook Islands, until 2023 with the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley and his initials IRB.

On British coins the portrait of Charles III is by Martin Jennings; the King approved it himself. The Queen’s British coins remained valid: some 27 billion were in circulation when the first circulating coins with Charles were struck.

1536 · Hampton Court

Ten guardians on the bridge

In 1536 Henry VIII had the stone bridge over the moat at Hampton Court completed, built of brick and more than 600 tonnes of stone. On it stood ten heraldic beasts, the King’s Beasts, displaying the King’s ancestry.

In the 17th century the bridge and the beasts vanished into the moat for more than 150 years. When the excavation began in 1909, only fragments of the beasts were found; the figures guarding the entrance today are copies from the 1950s.

2 June 1953 · Westminster

Ten beasts in plaster

For the coronation of Elizabeth II, ten heraldic beasts stood outside the Abbey’s glass-fronted annexe, designed by Eric Bedford: six feet tall, made of plaster, the work of James Woodford. His model was the King’s Beasts of Hampton Court.

The ten beasts chosen were those that best showed the Queen’s ancestry, from the Lion of England and the Griffin of Edward III to the Unicorn of Scotland and the White Horse of Hanover.

Copies in Portland stone stand guard at Kew outside the Palm House, a gift in 1956; the plaster figures have belonged to Canada since 1959.

The Sovereign

A gold coin travels the world

Henry VII gave the name Sovereign to a new gold coin in 1489. In the 19th century the Sovereign was called the “chief coin of the world”, accepted even in Brazil.

The Royal Mint also struck it at branch mints, from Sydney from 1855 to Pretoria from 1923, almost 500 million pieces in all. Today the Australian Sovereign of the Perth Mint shows a new St George, drawn by Jennifer McKenna.

3 x 1 Ounce Silver Set Queen Elizabeth II. 2026 – A Royal Tribute in Strictly Limited Mintage

  • Strictly limited: Only 2,000 sets exist worldwide – a true rarity for discerning collectors
  • Appreciation potential: The extremely low mintage combined with high demand promises exceptional growth opportunities
  • Exclusive collector's coin: Three-piece silver set in honour of the legendary Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Design: Three artfully crafted coins pay tribute to the legacy of the longest-reigning British monarch
  • Material: Finest silver – one of the oldest stores of value in human history

There are coins you buy. And there are coins you secure – before it's too late. The 3 x 1 Ounce Silver Set Queen Elizabeth II. 2026 unquestionably belongs in the second category. With a mintage of only 2,000 pieces worldwide, this three-piece ensemble is aimed at collectors who seek the extraordinary. Those with a passion for collector's coins will find exactly what they're looking for here – at the highest level.

Queen Elizabeth II. – A Legacy Immortalised in Silver

For over seven decades, Elizabeth II. shaped not only the British monarchy, but also numismatics like virtually no other individual. Her portrait adorned billions of coins around the globe. This exclusive set honours her extraordinary life's work with three individually designed silver coins that capture different facets of her reign. Each individual ounce tells its own story – together they form a cohesive total work of art of remarkable beauty.

For lovers of fine silver coins, this set represents a rare opportunity. The combination of historical significance, masterful minting artistry and very low mintage makes it an object that should be absent from no ambitious collection.

Why This Set Is So Sought After

Numismatics knows one iron rule: the lower the mintage, the greater the desirability. With only 2,000 sets available worldwide, we are talking about a genuine rarity. By comparison – many common bullion coins are struck in mintages of millions. This set, on the other hand, is so exclusive that statistically speaking there is only a single example for every several thousand collectors.

"Rare coins are like time capsules – they preserve history and gain in significance with the passing years."

That is precisely what makes them so appealing. The strict limitation means that demand could potentially far exceed supply in the future. For collectors who have not only aesthetics in mind, but also appreciation potential, this presents a fascinating constellation.

Silver – More Than Just a Precious Metal

Silver looks back on a millennia-old history as a coinage metal. Diverse cultures and civilisations used it as a medium of trade, as a symbol of wealth and prestige. Nothing has changed in this regard to this day – quite the contrary. Industrial demand for silver is growing steadily, driven by future technologies in electronics, solar energy and medicine. This dual demand – from both collectors and industry – lends the white precious metal a particular dynamism.

  1. Silver possesses intrinsic value through its diverse industrial applications
  2. It is durable and retains its physical properties across generations
  3. Gains from sales are generally tax-free after a holding period of at least one year
  4. Silver offers high liquidity and can be traded worldwide
  5. Compared to gold, silver is often more affordable – the perfect entry point for collectors and investors

Who Is This Set Suited For?

In short: for anyone who appreciates the extraordinary. Whether a passionate numismatist wishing to add a royal highlight to their collection, or a strategically minded precious metals enthusiast who recognises the limited availability as an opportunity – this set serves both requirements equally. It is also an excellent choice as a gift that transcends generations. After all, silver has always served to pass wealth and values from one generation to the next.

The combination of Queen Elizabeth II. – one of the most iconic figures of the 20th and 21st centuries – with the timeless elegance of silver creates a collector's piece that goes far beyond its pure material value. Here, history, craftsmanship and rarity merge into something truly unique.

Act Now – Before the Last Sets Are Sold Out

With only 2,000 pieces worldwide, one thing is certain: this set will not remain available for long. Those who hesitate risk missing out entirely. Secure your example of the 3 x 1 Ounce Silver Set Queen Elizabeth II. 2026 now and become part of an exclusive circle of collectors who know what truly exceptional numismatic treasures are made of.
