A house from Pforzheim

Recovering and refining precious metal has been at the heart of the house since its founding. Today it recovers gold and silver from jewellery, coins, dental gold alloys, silverware and silver-plated cutlery, as well as from industrial residues.

Chronicle

The chronicle of the house

  1. 1845

Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, in Pforzheim to recover precious metal from production waste on behalf of his customers.

  2. 1945

In the war the company building is destroyed, according to the house on 23 February. The house finds new premises at the jewellery and watch factory Knoll + Pregitzer.

  3. 1977

The house leaves the town centre and moves into premises in the Brötzinger Tal industrial area.

  4. 2010

The house introduces its investment products division.

  5. 2014

LBMA

What the London list means

The LBMA’s Good Delivery List names the refiners whose bars may be delivered into the London market.

It refers to large bars: for gold between 350 and 430 fine ounces, about 10.9 to 13.4 kilograms. Smaller bars do not count in London wholesale trading, so a bar of 0.5 g is not a Good Delivery bar.

25 x 0.5 g Gold Bars Heimerle und Meule: Crisis Protection in Credit Card Format

  • Investment goal: With gold bars you shield your wealth exceptionally effectively against inflation.
  • Preservation of value: Gold bars act as the perfect store of value, preserving and increasing the true substance of your wealth.
  • Protection: Especially in times of currency devaluation, recession, and runaway national debt, gold puts your wealth on a solid foundation.
  • Complement: Likewise, silver bars protect your purchasing power very effectively from the silent erosion of inflation.

25 bars, 25 cards, one clear goal: crisis protection you can hold in your hand. Each individual 0.5-gram gold bar from Heimerle und Meule is housed in its own Kettner RFID-blocker card in credit card format. Flat. Inconspicuous. Ready for immediate use. Together, the 25 units add up to 12.5 g of fine gold with a gross weight of 12.51 g – gold in 999.9/1,000 fineness, produced in Germany. And this is exactly where the appeal of this bundle lies: you are not acquiring a single lump of metal, but small denominations that can be individually passed on, given as gifts, or traded.

Why 25 small units instead of one large bar?

A 12.5-gram bar would be indivisible. These 25 cards are not. Anyone who needs to trade something in an emergency doesn't need values that can't be broken down – they need manageable units. Whether during a prolonged power outage at home, banking turmoil, or while abroad: a single card can easily be carried in your wallet while traveling without drawing attention. This is precisely why small denominations in gold and silver are among the most popular products for crisis preparedness.

  • A means of exchange with worldwide recognition: gold is recognized, verified, and accepted on every continent – independent of language, government, or currency.
  • Discretion included: the RFID-blocker card protects contactless cards in your wallet from unauthorized reading and disguises your precious metal as an ordinary credit card.
  • High liquidity: small fine gold bars are always in demand in the precious metals trade and can easily be converted back into cash.
  • Distributable: 25 cards also means multiple hiding places, multiple locations, multiple beneficiaries within the family.
  • Tax-attractive: investment gold is exempt from VAT under § 25c UStG, and profits from the sale are generally tax-free if the holding period is at least one year.

Heimerle und Meule: Germany's oldest refinery

The traditional Pforzheim-based company was founded in 1845 and is considered Germany's oldest gold and silver refinery. Since June 3, 2014, the company's gold bars have been listed on the Good Delivery List of the London Bullion Market Association – the international seal of quality for refineries. On the front of the bar, the manufacturer stamps its classic emblem featuring the smelter figure and the year 1845, along with \"FINE GOLD 999.9,\" the weight indication \"0.5 g,\" and the \"melter assayer\" stamp. Condition and state correspond to the individual items as described there: brand new, Brilliant Uncirculated, freshly set into the card straight from production.

Inflation protection that is non-negotiable

Paper money can be multiplied – gold cannot. This limited supply is the core of its inflation hedge. For over 6,000 years, the metal has served as a store of value; it has never been worth zero, and even central banks hold it as a reserve – a remarkable admission regarding their own fiat currencies. Anyone who wants to pass on purchasing power across decades and generations will find here a tangible asset that neither rusts, nor tarnishes, nor loses its shine. Its preservation of value arises not from a promise, but from the physical nature of the metal itself.

\"Real money, for 6,000 years.\" – Kettner Edelmetalle

Who benefits from this bundle

Beginners use the 25 cards as a step-by-step entry into fine gold, without having to put a four-figure sum into a single bar right away. Experienced investors appreciate them as a complement to their larger holdings – the emergency reserve alongside the kilo bar in the vault. And collectors reach for it because the Kettner card, with its dark wave design and golden lettering, is a collectible in its own right. Compared to 0.5-gram bars in plain blister packs, this variant offers additional RFID protection; compared to classic bullion coins such as the Krugerrand or Maple Leaf, it scores with fine divisibility and low capital outlay per unit. The premium per gram is naturally higher for very small bars than for large formats – but in return you get maximum flexibility when it matters most.

Anyone who views gold bars as insurance rather than a bet will find in this set of 25 gram fractions exactly the mix that counts in turbulent times: highest fineness, German craftsmanship, discreet packaging, and security that fits in any pocket.
