From Switzerland

From Balerna in Ticino. Valcambi since 1961.

Balerna lies in the south of Ticino, between Mendrisio and Chiasso. In 1961 five Swiss private investors built a precious metals refinery there, Valori & Cambi. In 1965 came the melter’s licence with the hallmark “ESSAYEUR FONDEUR”, in 1968 the LBMA Good Delivery listing for gold and silver.

  • Investment objective: With these three silver bars made of pure silver, you effectively protect your savings from creeping currency devaluation and the turbulence of upcoming crises. That is tangible inflation hedge in a handy gram format.
  • Value preservation: Small silver CombiBars like these are a reliable store of value. They preserve the real substance of your wealth, regardless of the state of paper money's purchasing power.
  • Protection: Rising prices, recession fears, high national debt: physical precious metal is your personal crisis protection when payment promises can no longer be relied upon.

Say thank you three times over, with real value in hand

A bouquet of flowers withers. Chocolates are quickly eaten. A bar of fine silver, however, endures. That is exactly what makes the 3 x 1g silver bars "Vielen Dank" such a special form of appreciation. You receive three minted 1-gram bars from the Swiss refinery Valcambi with a fineness of 999/1,000, totalling 3 g of fine silver. This is ideal if you want to thank several people at once: the neighbour who watered the flowers while you were on holiday, the colleague who stepped in at short notice, or the teacher on their farewell.

The bars are encapsulated and sit in a transparent sleeve in credit-card format. The design features the lettering "vielen dank" in colourful, nostalgic-looking wooden letters on a slate-grey background. On the flip side of the design is the English "thank you". This makes the gift suitable for international friends, customers and business partners as well.

Why silver is particularly convincing right now

Silver has been money for thousands of years. Entire world empires conducted their trade using drachmas, denarii and thalers, and to this day the white metal is regarded in many cultures as a symbol of prosperity and prestige. Fiat money depends solely on trust in governments and central banks. Silver, on the other hand, possesses an intrinsic value based on its physical properties. It cannot be multiplied at will, as deposits are limited.

At the same time, industrial demand is growing. Electronics, photovoltaics and medical technology can hardly do without silver, and new technologies are constantly opening up further fields of application. This dual role as a store of value and as a globally traded commodity gives the metal a solid foundation. Those who hold silver diversify their wealth more broadly and become a little more independent of currencies and payment promises.

Currencies come and go. Precious metals have remained and have outlasted every paper money era in history.

Small bars, great flexibility in a crisis

In turbulent times, it is precisely 1-gram bars that show their strength. If a currency starts to falter, such small units can be used as a medium of exchange much more easily than a large kilo bar. What's more, you only sell as much as you really need. Honestly speaking: the premium per gram is higher for small bars than for 100 g or 1 kg bars. In return, you get a denomination that is maximally flexible and a presentation that makes a wonderful gift.

Silver coins such as the Maple Leaf or the Vienna Philharmonic carry a face value. The Valcambi bars, on the other hand, have a simple form based purely on weight, without a face value. The gold counterpart, i.e. the 1 g gold bar with the same thank-you design, is also available, but it costs several times as much. Silver is more affordable and therefore an attractive choice for anyone wanting to get started with small amounts or to give generously as a gift. Good to know: silver bars are subject to the standard VAT rate of 19% in Germany. Profits from a later sale are generally tax-free for private individuals after a holding period of at least one year.

A thank-you that lasts generations

Silver is durable and retains its physical properties over a very long period of time. Encapsulated, each bar is also protected from fingerprints and scratches. In this way, a small gesture becomes a genuine piece of wealth that can be passed on. It might even lay the foundation for your own precious metals collection or private retirement provision. Whether investor or collector: with this set, you combine appreciation and lasting value in a lovingly designed product from Switzerland.
