1/200 oz Baby Wolf 2026 – the little wolf cub made of pure fine gold

  • Strictly limited: worldwide only a mintage of just 1,000 pieces. There will be no more examples of this edition.
  • Perspective: The value is based on the fine gold it contains and follows the gold price. The limited number of pieces gives the coin additional potential for value appreciation.
  • Rarity with substance: Unlike a pure collector's coin, what counts here first and foremost is the fine gold it contains – a true rarity with tangible material value.
  • Minting quality: struck in Proof, the most demanding minting technique with a mirrored background and matted reliefs.
  • Design: a howling wolf cub on a rock, framed by fern fronds, forest mushrooms, and dancing oak leaves.
  • Material / Fineness: 1/200 oz fine gold with a purity of 999.9/1,000 – 0.16 g of the noblest metal in its purest form.
  • Manufacturer: issued exclusively by Kettner Edelmetalle.
  • Country of origin: Germany.

Small, but made of pure gold: With the 1/200 oz Baby Wolf 2026, you acquire fully-fledged, physical investment gold. Its value is based primarily on the fine gold it contains and moves in line with the gold price. The young wolf is the personal touch. And the substance? That's the metal itself.

A wolf cub calling the moon

The obverse shows a small wolf tilting its head back with closed eyes and howling – as if rehearsing the voice of its pack for the very first time. It sits on a moss-covered rock, beneath which tiny mushrooms peek out. Delicate fern fronds rise up on either side, and individual oak leaves drift through the scene. The face value "25 DOLLARS" appears in the upper left, while the inscription "BABY WOLF" runs along the lower edge.

On the reverse, the wolf cub meets its friends from the forest: a squirrel balances and waves on an oak branch, while a young fox and a wolf look up at it curiously from below. Acorns and foliage decorate the scene. Engraved are the year of issue 2026, the issuing nation "Republic of Liberia," and the inscription "1/200 OZ FINE GOLD 9999." The coin belongs to the "Animals of the Land" series.

A limitation you can feel

A very low mintage is anything but standard for gold coins. Here, there are only 1,000 pieces worldwide. This strict limitation makes the Baby Wolf significantly scarcer than many well-known gold coins with mintages in the six-figure range. What is not re-minted remains rare – and scarcity has always been a defining characteristic of gold.

Proof quality: minting artistry in miniature format

14 millimeters in diameter. There isn't much more surface area to work with – and yet every hair in the cub's fur appears three-dimensional. This is thanks to the Proof minting technique: mirror-smooth background surfaces contrast with finely matted design elements, creating an impressive depth effect. The edge is reeded.

The coin is delivered in an atmospheric coincard. Its front, under the title "Der Wölfling" ("The Little Wolf"), shows a howling cub in the moonlight; on the back, a wolf pack moves through the nighttime forest, accompanied by the guiding phrase "In the small lies the greatest strength." The capsule reliably protects the sensitive surface.

Investment gold in small steps

Gold is the world's oldest currency and has been a proven store of value for over 6,000 years. Even in ancient Egypt, it was used as a unit of measure for trade. It has never had a value of zero, because it possesses an intrinsic value that depends neither on central banks nor on printing presses. This very characteristic is what makes small denominations so attractive to you:

  • Building wealth on a small budget: Small amounts of gold add up over the years to a considerable fortune.
  • Tradable worldwide: Fine gold is internationally recognized and can be sold at any time.
  • Flexible: Instead of one large unit, you can sell exactly the amount you need when required.
  • Tax-attractive: Profits from the sale of physical gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of one year.

Many investors also value the yellow metal as a building block for their inflation hedge and their crisis protection. The focus of this coin, however, is on getting started with physical gold investment – straightforward and tangible.

In comparison: 1/200 oz or something larger?

Anyone starting with a 1/10 or a full ounce immediately ties up a significantly higher amount. A 1/200 oz lowers this hurdle considerably. At the same time, the premium per gram is naturally higher for very small denominations than for large units. In return, you get an elaborate Proof minting, a strictly limited mintage, and maximum flexibility when it comes to selling later. For many, this exact combination is the ideal starting point.

Give the gift of a real gold investment

A young wolf raising its voice for the first time – a perfect fit for a new beginning. Give the gift of real investment gold for a birth, christening, or birthday. Despite the personal occasion, the recipient receives fully-fledged investment gold: minted fine gold whose value is based on the gold price. Not just a mere keepsake, then, but the first building block of a fortune that can be passed down through generations.
