What the stamp says

The bar in the frame bears “1/200 oz”, “FINE GOLD” with 999.9, the medallion with 1845, the seal “melter assayer” and, at the bottom, the name of the house.

999.9 means: of 1,000 parts, 999.9 are pure gold. Whether the number on the bar has a comma or a point, it is the same fineness.

The round medallion shows the figure of a caster, as the house calls it, above the year 1845. On gold it is joined by the field “melter assayer”.

Heimerle + Meule

A house from Pforzheim

Recovering and refining precious metal has been at the heart of the house since its founding. Today it recovers gold and silver from jewellery, coins, dental gold alloys, silverware and silver-plated cutlery, as well as from industrial residues.

Chronicle

The chronicle of the house

  1. 1845

Julius Dittler founds a sweepings works, a “Kehretsanstalt”, in Pforzheim to recover precious metal from production waste on behalf of his customers.

  2. 1945

In the war the company building is destroyed, according to the house on 23 February. The house finds new premises at the jewellery and watch factory Knoll + Pregitzer.

  3. 1977

The house leaves the town centre and moves into premises in the Brötzinger Tal industrial area.

  4. 2010

The house introduces its investment products division.

  5. 2014

On 3 June the LBMA, the association of the London precious metals market, admits Heimerle + Meule to its Good Delivery List for gold, the register of accredited refiners.

LBMA

What the London list means

The LBMA’s Good Delivery List names the refiners whose bars may be delivered into the London market.

It refers to large bars: for gold between 350 and 430 fine ounces, about 10.9 to 13.4 kilograms. Smaller bars do not count in London wholesale trading, so a bar of 1/200 oz is not a Good Delivery bar.

1/200 oz Gold Bar Christmas Tree – genuine investment gold in festive attire

  • Investment objective: With gold bars you protect your wealth exceptionally effectively against currency devaluation and preserve your purchasing power.
  • Value preservation: This bar serves as a reliable store of value, safeguarding the real substance of your assets and potentially increasing it over the years.
  • Protection: Especially in times of rising inflation, looming recession and runaway government debt, you protect your savings with physical gold.

The 1/200 oz Gold Bar Christmas Tree from Heimerle + Meule combines a tiny, fine portion of gold with an evocative presentation for the Christmas season. The bar is made of 999.9 fine gold and weighs in with a fine weight of 0.16 grams (1/200 oz) – minted, Brilliant Uncirculated, and supplied as new merchandise directly from one of Germany's most traditional refineries. Heimerle + Meule, based in the Pforzheim goldsmith region, has stood for the highest refining and minting quality for over a century and is one of Germany's recognized providers of fine gold.

The artfully designed motif shows a stylized Christmas tree appearing as a bright cutout against warm wood grain. Round cutouts suggest Christmas baubles, with hinted gifts resting beneath – all framed within a clear border where the small fine gold bar finds its secure place, stamped with "1/200 OZ", "FINE GOLD" and "999.9". As lovely as this personal touch is for the Advent season, the true centerpiece and real reason to buy is the fine gold it contains. The design is merely the packaging of the message – the substance is the gold itself.

Investment gold in small denominations – ideal for getting started

Small bars like this one are excellent for gradually entering physical gold investment step by step. Anyone who regularly acquires small amounts of gold builds up a considerable fortune in genuine fine gold over the years, without any great effort. The value of this bar is based primarily on the gold it contains and moves with the gold price – independent of confidence in paper currencies. This is precisely where gold's strength lies: it is humanity's oldest currency, has outlasted every crisis, and has never once been worth zero.

Despite the festive occasion, what you are acquiring here is full-fledged investment gold – minted fine gold whose value is based on the gold price and is recognized worldwide.

Why gold protects your wealth

  • Inflation hedge: Gold has proven itself as a bulwark against loss of purchasing power for millennia – a proven inflation hedge when paper money loses value.
  • Crisis protection: As a scarce, physical asset with intrinsic value, gold offers reliable crisis protection in economically and politically uncertain times.
  • High liquidity: Gold is tradable worldwide, can be resold at any time, and is easily converted into cash.
  • Value preservation across generations: Fine gold is durable, never loses its shine, and can be passed on to the next generation as a retirement provision.
  • Tax advantage: The bar is VAT-free as investment gold; profits from its sale are generally tax-free after a minimum holding period of one year.

It is no coincidence that central banks are among the largest gold holders in the world – a clear sign that even the guardians of paper money rely on the enduring value of gold. Compared to larger bars, the 1/200 oz unit scores with its low capital requirement: you can invest in genuine fine gold with even a small budget, without immediately committing to a large sum. Anyone wishing to save a larger amount of gold more cheaply per gram, on the other hand, can supplement their holdings with classic standard bars.

Whether as an entry point into your own gold investment or as a genuine investment to give as a gift for Christmas: with the 1/200 oz Gold Bar Christmas Tree from Heimerle + Meule, you secure minted fine gold of German quality. Order now from Kettner Edelmetalle and lay the foundation for your lasting preservation of value.
