1 g fine gold

Luck has its signs.Good wishes,as a bar of gold.

1 g fine gold on its card

On New Year cards around 1900, the wish was already in the picture: four-leaf clovers, ladybirds, horseshoes. These are the signs our pieces carry in gold and silver. On its card a chimney sweep with top hat and ladder rides a bicycle. The chimney sweep appears again and again on historic New Year cards.

The four-leaf clover

Four leaves, where three usually grow.

Clover normally has three leaflets, four only in very rare cases. The Botanic Gardens of the University of Bonn call the four-leaf clover a rare exception.

The disposition lies in the genes, as a plant breeder at the University of Georgia found. Whether the fourth leaf actually grows also depends on light and temperature.

The German dictionary Duden calls it Glücksklee: clover with an exceptionally four-part leaf, regarded as a lucky charm. The dictionary of the Brothers Grimm also lists the four-leaf clover as a Glücksblatt, a leaf of luck.

The lucky clover sold in pots, by the way, is a wood sorrel from southern Mexico that naturally has four leaves. It came to Europe in the 19th century.

“A four-leaf clover is a rarity. Lucky is the person who happens to find one.”
Museum der Kulturen, Basel

The lucky ladybird

Seven spots, a lucky number.

In German folk speech the ladybird is called Glückskäfer, the lucky beetle, as the German dictionary Duden records. The Etymological Dictionary of German calls ladybirds the best known and best loved beetles, regarded as a symbol of luck.

The classic lucky charm is the seven-spot ladybird, red with seven black spots. Seven has always been considered a lucky number, writes NABU, the German nature conservation union.

By the way, the spots do not reveal a ladybird’s age. Their number stays the same throughout its life of at most one year.

A seven-spot ladybird eats 100 to 150 aphids a day, its larva 400 to 600 before it pupates.

“As a lucky charm, the seven-spot ladybird … enjoys great popularity.”
NABU, Naturschutzbund Deutschland

The bar

Fine gold, on a card.

The bar’s card reads “Ein unvergänglicher Glückwunsch!”, an everlasting good wish.

Luck to give

A wish you keep.

At the turn of the year people give lucky charms. The New Year lucky charms we know today came about in the 19th century.

Many people do not want to throw their lucky charms away or pass them on, for fear the luck might go with them.

Whether lucky charms really bring luck may be left open, writes the Volkskundemuseum Wien. And it names what they are meant to say:

“Whoever gives a lucky charm wants to say: I care about you.”

1 g Mini Gold Bar "Congratulations" by Umicore – genuine investment gold for special occasions

  • Investment goal: With gold bars, you can protect your wealth remarkably effectively against the creeping devaluation of money.
  • Value preservation: The bar acts as a reliable store of value, preserving the real substance of your capital and growing it over the years.
  • Protection: Especially amid rising inflation, looming recession, and growing government debt, you can safeguard your wealth with gold.
  • Crisis protection: Small gold bars in particular are excellent as a handy means of payment and exchange in an emergency.

A waving gentleman in a top hat cycling away, accompanied by the red lettering "An everlasting congratulations!" – this charming black-and-white design turns the 1 g mini gold bar "Congratulations" into a personal greeting wishing luck and a golden future. The real substance, however, lies at the top of the card: a minted fine gold bar from the Belgian manufacturer Umicore with a purity of 999.9/1,000. The design is the personal touch – the gram of fine gold it contains is the substance and the actual reason to buy.

Anyone who purchases this bar is not giving away mere decoration or a simple souvenir, but genuine, full-value investment gold. Its value is primarily determined by the fine gold it contains and moves in line with the gold price. This makes it possible to give a real gold investment as a gift for a birthday, wedding, christening, or Christmas – the ideal first step for the recipient into physical gold investment. In this way, a symbolic congratulations becomes a lasting asset.

Umicore – fine gold with a long tradition

Umicore is one of Europe's most established bar manufacturers. The company's fine gold bars have been traded on the London LBMA since around 1930, carry the "Good Delivery" designation there, and are fully bank-tradable. The 1-gram bar measures only about 15 x 8.5 millimeters, bears the Umicore logo on the front along with the inscription "1g FINE GOLD 999.9," and is well protected inside a sealed blister card. It is delivered with a certificate of authenticity, is Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) in condition, and is brand new.

Why small gram gold bars are so popular

The 1g gold bar is the smallest common denomination and therefore an affordable entry point into gold investment. It allows for wealth building in small steps: gram by gram, these small amounts of gold add up over the years to a considerable fortune. A larger bar offers a lower premium per gram, but cannot be divided. The small format, on the other hand, scores with high flexibility and can be easily traded and resold worldwide – a real advantage if you later want to convert only part of your holdings into cash.

  • Low entry threshold: ideal for entering physical gold with manageable capital.
  • High liquidity: a gram of fine gold is in demand anytime, anywhere.
  • Fine denomination: several small bars can be used more flexibly than a single large one.

For those seeking a direct comparison: renowned houses such as Heraeus or Heimerle + Meule also offer similar gram gold bars. The same principle applies to all of them – what matters is the fine gold content, while the design and packaging vary depending on the occasion. The Umicore bar in the "Congratulations" design combines first-class investment gold with a charming, personal message.

Gold as an inflation hedge and store of value

Gold is the oldest currency in the world and has been a proven store of value for over 6,000 years. It has intrinsic value, has never been worth zero, and protects against loss of purchasing power. As an inflation hedge, it is hard to beat: while fiat money can be printed by central banks almost at will, the supply of gold is naturally limited – and this is precisely what contributes to its long-term value stability. It is no coincidence that central banks themselves are among the largest holders of gold in the world. Furthermore, capital gains from physical gold are generally tax-free after a holding period of one year.

Gold has shone for millennia – and will never lose its shine. Anyone who starts today with a single gram lays the foundation for a fortune that can be passed down through generations.

In this way, a heartfelt congratulations becomes a gift with real substance: minted fine gold from Umicore, whose value follows the gold price and which can accompany its owner for a lifetime. Secure this 1 g mini gold bar "Congratulations" – as a solid foundation for your own gold investment or as a golden start for the people who matter most to you.
